Pray for guidance from the Holy Spirit.
Use the law and gospel for the basis of your "message"
Law - we are sinners and we don't follow what God has asked us to do or has told us to be 100% of time.
Gospel - we are saved and Jesus died for our sins.
(There are lots of ways to get those two points in!)
Keep it short! Had one pastor who stopped when he started boring himself! LOL
Good luck and God's blessings!

It relies upon on the denomination. i'm a member of an autonomous church, corresponding to a Baptist, So my description would be what we do. starts off with a prayer observed by utilising making a music. generally have a quick interview between a pastor and the two a missionary or somebody doing charity paintings contained domestically. extra making a music. Somtimes we've baptisms, yet no longer each Sunday. We bypass the offerring plates in basic terms in the previous the sermon. some church homes do no longer take in selections, yet we are quite classic. For awhile i became right into a member of a church that did no longer bypass offerring plates. somewhat that they had a pair of equipped in lockboxes interior the lobby the place people could desire to deposit donations. the main substantial section is the sermon the place the pastor (preacher) reads a passage from the Bible and then talks approximately it and explains it. The sermon is generally the main substantial element of the service. it could final from 15-20 minutes as much as an hour reckoning on the church and the pastor. At my cutting-edge church, the semon is generally approximately half-hour. At my previous church it may desire to be an hour or extra. however the pastor became into so thrilling that persons in no way have been given bored. After the sermon church homes each now and then have communion the place each individual eats a small ingredient of bread and beverages an somewhat small glass of wine which synbolize the physique and blood of Jesus. maximum church homes have not got communion a week. some take it as quickly as a month or 4 circumstances a 365 days. Others do it a week. Then some extra songs and a ultimate prayer.

The best pointer I can give is to tell him to go look at himself in the mirror.

Seriously. He should (and you, too) go stand in front of a mirror and ask himself, "Do I measure up?" He may be surprised what he discovers if
he takes his time and is very sincere. This action alone would be a message in itself.

The strongest message to any Christian would be to do the same.

A simple message but very strong.

The Word of God has to "mean" something to Christians. And it is our measuring rod, our roadmap, our guide.

Sorry, If he is ready to delever a "message" to the church then it is up to Him to be prepared through the Holy Spirt.

I would hope that a Pastor or Teacher has been training him

The only pointers I can think of is to pray and seek God for the message and see what God wants you to speak on.

the most important thing in delivering any speech, even the word of god, is to try and make the topic relevant to the people listening. if it doesn't pretain to them they wont get the most out of it. =]

If you don't know about science, don't discuss it, or the sermon will get out and scientists will laugh at you.
