Before the US led invasion, they said to go in would be a war crime. The Vatican does not normally takes sides once a conflict is in force. About 10% of Iraqis are Chaldean rite Catholics.

Mostly, they just wish it would go away. The Vatican has made various platitudinous remarks about the situation, but has come up with nothing useful. (Which is not to condemn the Vatican particularly; nobody has come up with much of anything useful.)

Pope John Paul was opposed to this military action. He spoke with both George Bush and Saddam Husseine in an attempt to avoid this conflict.
Unfortunly neith Bush or Husseine want to listen to the Pope and as a result, we have a senseless war.
