I've always had 21st Century car insurance but rates tripled from the last time. 21st Century has always given me excellent service in a timely manner whenever I got into an accident. They had good customer service, sent me a check in a timely manner and I was able to talk to a live person if I had any questions. Which car insurance gives the best service with the lowest rates?

Go to an independent agent with lots of companies and ask them to get you the best price (they'll do the leg work of shopping it). If you own a house, you'll want higher liability than state minimums. GEICO spends about half a billion dollars on advertising -- the premiums help make up for that. They are competitive (but not best) for liability-only state-minimum-liability, but can usually be beaten by a lot for anything else. If you have a home too, try to get a multi-policy discount.

I have had Geico for about 15 years. Their service is pretty good and the definately go to the wall if they feel someone is trying to gouge you/them.

My (ex) wife accidentally hit the rear of a car full of people at about 3 mph
All of them claimed life threatening wiplash and other related injuries. But the winner was the driver who claimed that she couldn't work for a month because she could barely walk. Her lawyer sued for a LOT.

Geico came in and nailed her tiny little *ss in court with her medical records, her job records and - better still, they had testimony and records from her aerobics class of how she was dancing and prancing like a top Idol contestant.

Judge cited HER for perjury, and all of the other claims were suddenly resolved quickly and fairly.

Our insurance rate..? it didn't change a bit.

Geico is a very expensive insurance. They spend so much on advertising that they have to make up for it in their rates. Try to find an independent agent. They handle a lot of companies and can find the cheapest one for you. I have had SAFECO insurance for several years. I get estimates from a number of companies every year and none have given me a lower quote. GEICO has always been one of the highest quotes, even higher than State Farm.
