Many of the greatest fiction writers of the twentieth century turned their backs on Christianity and/or organized religion. I would say given the barest modicum of research, you would find no strong link between religious faith and creative talent.

What an odd question. I must ask, are you an artiest?

It seems that people have the most absurd ideas about what being an artiest is. There is more good old fashion work involved than talent or inspiration. Sure you need talent and a vision, but that's just the start. It takes study and years of relentless effort to produce good art on a regular bases. I am tired by the popular notion of artiest as mad, pain soaked, or the lucky inspired few.

And the answer to your question is no. The soul is a fanciful and childishly flippant way of describing our interior life, not a gateway to some invisible friend in the sky. Insight is stronger and more provocative than inspiration.

No.........

WHy do people always attack atheists?? WHay really is the point?? Why can't people respect one anothers opinions on religions.

I am not religious, but I am open-minded.......in case you are not aware some of the greatest writers, poets, musicians are not religious in any sense.....some of them are atheists, some are spiritualists, some buddhists, some muslim etc etc.

I believe that people who have the ability to write in any sense are more in touch with their spiritual side, but you cannot say that if someone cannot write they must be an atheist. Likewise if someone write something that you do not agree with they must be an atheist.

Everyone has the same right as the next person to express themselves, and be who they want to be.

Interesting... Maybe they say that because artists, writers, poets and musicians deal with intuition and inspiration... and intuition and inspiration have all to do with spirituality, right?

I think atheists can be as intuitive and inspired as any other one, the difference is that they don't see that, don't recognize that and don't admit that.

Peace!

Gifted
I believe that anyone who channels their love from their spirituality has more depth to their artform of choice.
I believe this because I feel they are more in touch with themselves, their hearts flow more freely...released through the spirit. Each one having a talent different and separate from all others, as each has a separate and intimate relationship with God. Giving them the depth of love that can only be found through Him and blessed by Him.
There are athiests which have talent I am sure.
I just believe that spirituality and connectiveness to our spiritual side brings forth a beauty without comparison.
Blessings

I believe that is true about the creative people, they are open to a Divine creative source. Atheists? Aren't there some atheist artists? Maybe they don't realize where they get their inspiration, I dunno...
