Either feels awkard but putting your butt in their face seems just a little worse? What's the correct way to do this?

Well, I'm over 6' tall, so when someone tries to get past me, I tend to stand up. I avoid the issue.

However, when I am passing down a row, I usually face toward them. It's easier to avoid stepping on feet.

I face away, just cause its easier for me to grip the seat infront of me, but sometimes I can even get away with just walking regular depends how long the persons legs are...

It may differ between countries and cultures, I've heard that it's correct to pass them with your face towards them.
