I have a friend looking to get a Golden Retriever. She is very gentle with her dogs and has had 4 Goldens in the past.

Its taking away points every time you ask a question... you can jus add details to the 1st one you posted... you need a rescue group.. they would guarantee it would go to a good home...smile...
Edit: WOW looks like yu have a few people who want to help you in placing this dog!!! smile.... e-mail 'em... and ask lots of questions.. (no offense to the posters) like how much land do you have? how much time can you devote to it? have you had goldens in the past and know what to expect from this breed? ask about the vet care they have given to their previous or existing pets. maybe ask if they can provide papers stating they have taken their pets to a vet ( like vaccine records, etc. etc.) or a phone number of their vet so you can call the vet and ask what kind of parents they are... Like I said NO OFFENSE TO THE OTHER POSTERS, PLEASE.... You just have to be careful and make sure your baby has a forever home... plus you need to have a contract stating that they will give you the dog back if it does not work out and they will not relinquish it to a pound....smile good luck!!!!!

I JUST GOT A GOLDEN YESTERDAY!!! And i live in ohio too. What a coinkidink. Id say just put an ad in the paper. It will be gone pretty fast.

You can place a free classified ad on www.petfinder.com. I adopted out my shih tzu to a wonderful family. Just beware of phony replies from people who are in other countries and can't spell (I'm serious).

go to your local animal shelter and tell them what you want to do, they will assist you in the adoption process
