My dog did the same thing around that same age. I called my vet and she said that the main reason is because their growth has slowed down and they don't need as much. As long as her energy level and water intake are still fine then you should be okay. I started putting beef broth on my dogs food but he is still only eatting once or so a day(he is a year old now). If really concerned, dont hesitate to ask your vet!

There is some pills you can get that are supposed to make the poop smell bad to them. Not sure why it doesn't already, but them I'm not a dog. As I recall they were kind of expensive, but we tried them with our dog when she was a puppy. For us, it didn't help, she started eating the poop again when we ran out of pills. She's almost 6 years old and she ate her poop just recently? The best advise is to pick up the poop as soon as the puppy drops it. I have a new puppy, he is not interested in a poopy diet. Drops it, kicks some grass on it and moves on. Curious, is your puppy a female? I wonder if it's just female dogs that do that? Mothers dogs eat their puppy's feces naturally, I wonder if all female dogs have a taste for it?

Are you leaving her food down or picking it up after she had had a chance to eat what she wants?
Many dogs that are free feed become very picky eaters especially if they are also given "special treats".
Put her food down give her 20 minutes to eat and then pick it back up. At the next meal do the same.
As long as she is not loosing weight she should be OK.
Many dog's food needs go down as they get older.

How long has she been doing this? Has anyone been feeding her table scraps or more treats, etc?

If your dog's behavior has changed, it's always a good idea to call the vet...but if you have been giving her your food or a lot of treats, she may simply not want to eat the dog food.

Try changing her dog food. Maybe she's just not hungry when you feed her. I put our dogs food out in the morning and early afternoon. They eat when their hungry. And if one didn't get enough, they'll flip the bowl and bring it to me. You could try bacon grease, our dogs love it on weekend mornings, they get to have breakfast with daddy.

is she still drinking water??
if so you should be ok, just make sure you are giving her the food so she can choose to eat. most dogs will not starve themselves. if she continues this way you may want to talk to a vet. but as long as she is drinking and is not losing weight, she will be ok.

try adding spices to her food, we add a little season salt to our dogs food, it makes them want it and the salt helps their digestive system.
