Some things are just incomprehendable by humans. Could you comprehend the making of this world? Most knowledge today is based on believing a higher power- that is, we know because we are told, not because we experience. Some things just require faith. As for the "Additionally, does the fact that he had to rest for a day proove that god is not infallible..." , God did not necessarily rest because he was tired, He proclaimed a day of rest because he knew we would need it.

this is a great question whether its meant to be sarcastic or not. Though the idea that God exists presupposes being all powerful dont you think? The day of rest was God setting an example for humanity, that we must work to earn our keep or to earn our rest. the fact that you seem to believe there is a God in itself, and that we are not God, that God is then almighty, just perhaps he is not as predictable as we would like him to be. hving a day of rest also shows that we are in his image and that we can relate to him. most of the stories in the bible establish God as an authority but one who also has a lasting relationship with his creation.
A human being has the capacity to create life as well, and we continue to care for that creation, nurture, and help it grow until it becomes an image of us, yet unique as well.

Not sure, but you could even ask why he created anything in the first place. Anyways, I believe that he was setting an example for man to work six days and rest and worship Him on the 7th which is the Sabbath (Saturday).

She had other things on her mind.
Seriously, why do you assume that rest means a loss of energy? Rest is an important part of the creative process. Just because one can do something instantly doesn't mean that one should or must do it that quickly.

he did not create the world in 6 literal days. It was over 6 periods of time. It could have been 6 seconds it could have been 6 million years. He took his time to make everything perfect.
Who are we to rush him?

Perhaps you'd prefer the term "comparative omnipotence"? Does that work better for you?
If being hung up on one word is all that is bothering you about Christianity, I'll give it to you.

First, omnipotence does not mean one is required to be speedy. Second, one can be almight and tired. I suspect every Easter sunrise when he gets his morning wakeup call, he is quite tired. They are just lucky he doesn't roll over and hit the alarm clock.

because that is what He wanted to do,
and to make an example of a week,
6 day to work and one to rest
and yes He could of made in all in one nanosecond but that is not what He wanted to do.
