well you should respect your religion. but then again it is your body, and i believe it's your choice how you decorate your temple. . . try getting the tattoo somewhere where only you can see it. it is just between you and your bro right? like on your hipbone or your lower back . . .
sorry to hear about your brother. best of luck chicka (",)

If you truly believe that Islam is the right religion, then you must follow the rules. As far as the answer from 'somebody' about Christianity not allowing tattoos, that is a false belief. I am a youth pastor and I have a tattoo. The Bible refers to a pagan ritual where people would mark their bodies by cutting themselves and putting ashes into the wounds. They did this to honor their dead and appease their gods so the dead would have a good afterlife. That's why the Bible states, "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD." Leviticus 19:28. It is a direct referral to practices by other religions. Some translations have put tattoos in with this verse. The word 'tattoo' didn't even exist until 1760.

I lost my brother when I was 18 and he was 15. I am 30 now. I don't know about getting a tattoo, especially if you are a practicing Muslim. There are other ways to commemorate your brother. Just remember you will never forget him even after years pass by. How about planting a tree near his grave site. I don't know there are other things you can do, but if a tattoo is something you really want to do for him then go for it. Sorry about your loss.

Sorry to here about your brother! But a tattoo is a lovely idea but only if you get the right tattoo that commemorates him! As for your religion, its your body, not your religions body so do what YOU want to do.
I am also having a memorial tatto for my father! But cant decide either on chinese/japanese symbols saying Daddy's angel/princess or something more unique! Any ideas would be happy to here! Im having it done tommorow!
Good luck with what ever you decide!

none of us can tell you if it is something that you should do or not but for many of us (christians) the bible says not to get tattoos but many of us do not follow all of the guidelines set forth in the bible and this is one of them.
getting a tattoo is a personal decision whether religion is factored in or not so it's something you really need to reflect on. do you think you will be able to deal with the religious consequences of having a tattoo? will your family reject you or treat you differently because of it?
i hope that helped and good luck on your decision. memorial tattoos are a great way to remember and honor someone loved and lost.

In my opinion, I would go ahead and get the tattoo, but have in put where it's private.
Im not to familiar with the Islam,
but to honor a brother, sister, and parents, is a fabulous thing.

Honestly, only you can decide that. I don't know how strictly Muslim laws are enforced, but if they're really strict about stuff, I wouldn't.
