Well on the first date, a kiss is ok, but dont attack each other and start eating their face. Single date- no doubles yet. Get to know each other. Thats what the date is for...maybe start off somewhere casual.

A first date should always be casual and fun. A lot of times there are awkward moments on first date, and if it's at a place that's fun and casual, it's easier to pass those over. A first date is really about learning about the other person in a casual environment. For me, a kiss or holding hands is a commitment, which doesn't normally happen after a first date. A hug goodbye would be fine, but I think anything more than that is commital.

a kiss? depends on what your comfortable with. if it was someone i just met probably not, but if we had been talking for awhile i would make a judgement based on that.
somewhere casual definately. somewhere where you are comfortable being yourself. it's also important, especially if you don't know the person that well, go somewhere that offers "conversation starters" like a movie you can discuss afterwords or the mall where you can explore different stores because the dinner conversations can run short if you dont know each other that well.
i think a first date should be by yourself so you can focus on just that person. if you go on a double date for your first date you might be too tempted to talk to the other couple more that your date.

Well . . . you didn't say if you were out of school or not so it's kinda hard to tell.
The only thing I can recommend as a universal tip is never go formal on the first date if you can avoid it. Because all you'll think about the entire time is how you both look. very distracting.
If you know the guy already, holding hands or a kiss is not out of the question. If you've never met him, he better really earn that kiss!! :)

i asked my mom this very question!!! i respect my moms decisions and advice, so i believed her when she said its ok to go with what you feel. if you feel like holding hands, hold hands. if you feel like kissing him on the cheek, or, making out with him (not recommened) go for it.
but, i think the type of date depends on the guy. i, personally, like casual dates with a guy, but, i usually do what he wants to do. ask him where hes gonna take you, then decide

First date is about being little shy and extra happy exploring one another's personalities closely .. may be intimate relationship could be postponed when it comes at its own right timing.
