The protein in tofu is high quality compared to other plant sources. Many foods of plant origin are considered an incomplete source of protein because they tend to lack some essential amino acids.
If all essential amino acids are not present the protein cannot be used for growth or maintenance of tissues. In this case protein is often burned as fuel or converted into fat and stored. The protein will only be converted to fat if more calories are consumed than the body requires.
Tofu protein is good quality and ensures most has more chance to be used for protein synthesis of lean muscle and antibodies

Tofu is made of soy. What soy gives you is a good source of protein. Skin's elasticity has not much to do with amount of protein intake. Depending on your age, skin may get back into normal stage if you are still young (under 25) and you are not dropping 5 size or more. But if you are very overweight and older, your skin is overstretched and lost it's elasticity...not that much different than rubberband in your pants that wears out over time. No matter how much supplement you take (or tofu you eat) or cream you put on will not have a permanent effect on tightening up skin. Hope this helps.

Protein and calcium come to mind. I guess if you want some good sites, post this question in the Vegetarian and Vegan section under food. I know I have some bookmarked, but I've not quite got the time to look as I'm waiting for my dishwasher to finish and for my dryer to finish. (The sooner I get my housework done, the sooner I can sit and play or read without guilt. Plus I want to walk to the drugstore later.)
I also did a search, "health benefits of tofu" and got some good looking sites.
I hope this helps some...

When cooking a meal I do something I will enjoy eating. I never think of the health benefits, because I benefit from having a good diet. If you enjoy tofu, then eat tofu, but if you enjoy chicken, then eat chicken. If you enjoy them both then eat them on different nights. Simple!!

All the good news about tofu being a health-promoting food is true. Tofu is a very good source of protein, specifically soy protein, as well as numerous other nutrients necessary for good health.
Research on soy protein in recent years has shown that regular intake of soy protein can help to lower total cholesterol levels by as much as 30%, lower LDL (bad cholesterol) levels by as much as 35-40%, lower triglyceride levels, reduce the tendency of platelets to form blood clots, and possibly even raise levels of HDL (good cholesterol).
All of this sounds very good to people trying to avoid atherosclerosis or diabetic heart disease. High LDL cholesterol levels can lead to a build up of cholesterol deposits in the blood vessels. If these deposits get too large or break, they can cause a heart attack or stroke.
Tofu is a very good source of iron, providing 33.8% of the DV for this important mineral in 4 ounces. Iron is primarily used as part of hemoglobin, a molecule essential to energy production since it is responsible for transporting and releasing oxygen throughout the body. But hemoglobin synthesis also relies on copper. Without copper, iron cannot be properly utilized in red blood cells. Fortunately, both minerals are supplied in tofu, which also contain 11.0% of the daily value for copper.

Soy products produce lots and lots of gas in your digestive system, so you will be able to fart "The Yellow Rose of Texas" if that's the kind of thing you're into.

I've heard that too, but I don't really know if it's true. I do know that it contains protiens which your body needs and it's not red meat!
