Human condition in which people believe they have the ability to determine what others think.
Mostly, women do this. As in this example: "she thinks she is all that, anyone can see she dyes her hair !!!" This is usually said for the most part by women who dye their hair.
And, then, of course, there is the "superior factor", in which people decide they are better then others, such as one can see on this site all the time.

Why do you assume that others assume to know what others are thinking to the point of asking a question on Y! Answers?

Because we all like to think that we think the same as everybody else. So therefore they must be thinking...such and such. We should all remember that everyone has lived through different circumstances in their life and come out with a different outlook on life because of it. If the world was more understanding and compassionate we'd all be so much more happy.

Because they cannot understand why others do not share their beliefs so they try and rationalize why people think differently from the "obvious correct answer"

People stereotype and have very narrow minds. Once they get an idea in their head about a certain group of people they only use that one idea.
