Ok leave the damn Catholics alone. Geez. They can believe whatever the heck they want to! They don't worship idols, they honor the people behind them for thier sacrifice the SAME thing other Christians do with the cross.
To answer your question, no it doesn't mean that. They simply use the symbol to pray and show thier faith.
