From a woman's point of view - asking for someone's number does not make them appear desperate - stop worrying about what others think of you - confidence is SEXY!
Be respectful, show interest, be yourself!

why not just ask them if they want to catch a movie or go to the club some night. it doesn't sound desperate at all. take the initiative. if they say no thanks, at least you know you've given it a shot.

umm, i would just say what you just said. you want theire number and you wanna hangout with them sometime. its an honest statement. and kinda funny and surprising to whoever your telling that to.

just be like "we should hang out sometime. " or "i have fun hanging out with you we should exchange numbers and go out sometime" if they like you it shouldnt be a problem.
