>>>>>Personally, I wonder, if you don't want to have anything to do with God or religion then why are you here?
My deduction is, you want to turn the gentle, immature Christians away from God. They come here to learn and be up built and for comraddery. You dash their hopes to the ground. You make them doubt God's existence. You ruin lives. And for that I am upset with you. I personally feel if most people don't have God in their lives there would be no form of peace and those trying to obey laws. Christians obey and follow rules to please God. What is there to stop an atheist?
If you deny God now, who will you turn to at the end of your life? You will have to answer to Him for every one you misled. <<<<<

I DID NOT write this. It's an answer I received to a previous question.

I am an atheist.

Now let's just see how many people actually read the details.

I would love to talk to the person who believes in an all seeing eye. A very primitive tribal belief, but one still widely held. If a Christian has the sense to leave Christianity, how is that ruining their lives? That person may feel that if people don't have an imaginary friend they will not obey laws, but that is silly. Christians are terrible criminals, as are Buddhists, Jews, Muslims, Jains and Atheists. However, excluding the group who become criminals, what does Christianity have to offer that any other belief system does not have, except of course an imaginary friend.

They must not have not noticed in Iraq, there is no peace and it is filled with highly religious people. The war is being lead by an Evangelical Christian who lied to bring a nation to war. I do not see how Christianity has helped Bush, except to help him justify to himself unethical conduct.

How do we reach out to such a person to bring them into the light.

From 3:30 to 4:30 I have two high school students coming by my office/lab to be tutored in math.

Ya gotta feel sorry for them.

We atheists are such an evil lot.

I tried this a few times. On every attempt, around 60% read the details. Which was much higher than I expected.

1. that person who wrote that isnt a Christian, she is a Jehovah Witness (there is a big difference)

2. secular humanism is a religion (Thomas Jefferson called unbelief, a religion. and many other humanist say that it is a religion.)

3. as a real Christian, no one can discourage or take away from my joy that i have in Jesus Christ. Atheist actually motivate me to build a stronger relationship with Christ. real Christians dont hate anybody we are to love everybody. i love everyone, even those who hate me, thats what Jesus Christ teaches.

I remember the original question, and my jaw dropping when I read the answers, especially the selected one above.

The irony is, we're trying to help people realise that it's pretty weak if you need the fear of eternal retribution to lead a good life. It's one of the things that most annoys me about religions, and it's something they all seem to have in common to some degree.

Unfortunately, this isn't all that atypical. Here's some "friendly" Christian questions (though not quite as bad as yours):
Matt: Why are atheists so bitter?
Maurice H: Do athiest not like to think?
JESUS SAVES: All you Heathens make me sick?
Georgiegirl: Isn't atheism kind of like masturbation?
Fiddich59: Question for foolish and misguided atheists?
Jeff: Is it true that most atheists are depressed and on drugs?
Ballsonthewalls: Why are those who don't believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ inherently evil?

( I like the last one... I've never been called "evil" before... ) >:-)

Most won't read the details. That answer is of course a load of BS. We don't ruin lives, we liberate them.

If you or anyone can turn them from thier faith then they aren't that faithful to begin with. If they are, they will come back or never leave. Dont' blame other people for someone's lack of faith. That is THIER path, thier tests. Sorry if they fail it in your eyes. But don't blame the DaVinci Code or athiest. Blame it on them. THEY left. * By the Term "you" I mean anyone who actually believes that crap.
