It may be way too early for most of us, but with the first Republican debate having just happened, I wanted to know who you all thought would be the person most representative of your ideas? McCain? Romney? Or a Democratic candidate (Clinton? Obama?).

I did not see the debate last night, but I've read up on most of the candidates. I find myself liking a dark horse, Sam Brownback, the more I read about him.

Keiichi, I definitely have to disagree with you: If there's an opportunity to have a man of God in office, wouldn't that be better for the spiritual lives of a lost nation than having a non-Christian in office?

After all, Israel experienced its greatest time of splendor through the kingship of David; through the kingship of lesser kings, the nation declined and the people sought after other gods.

It was through godly kings and judges that the people were most on fire for God.

I care about the lost. And I'm afraid the wrong president (and it has happened in the past) will lead this country more astray. I care deeply for those around me and I want the best influences (Christian) possible for them.

I am a part of this world, but not of it. As part of this world, I must do what I can to make it a better place.

I like McCain although I disagree with him about alot of issues. He just seems more believable. Other candidates seem to be changing thier positions now that they are considering running for president. I find that irritating. Really, so far, I am not impressed with any of the candidates. I hope to learn more and find one I like.

I'm not sure about "White" Christians, but out of 60 Million Christians (to me, we are all the same -- color or otherwise), 15 Million voted in the last presidential election. Many of our Christian voters are apathetic because there are no candidates that strictly stand for God and "In God we Trust." Plato said “The price of apathy towards public affairs is to be ruled by evil men,” Are we being ruled by Evil men? I think corporations are running a good portion of our government. That is why we see Greed, Ego's, and Division in our government. It will be a whole lot more Evil, unless the citizens of the United States do something about it soon. Why don't we create a Christian political party that proposes policies and an agenda that God wants. One suggestion would be to start by removing all money (lobbyists, Special Interests, ability to advertise in a campaign, etc) from elections and politics and go from there. I wrote a two page summary of how I would build this party to get my brain into it, but I know others have better ideas. what are yours? What would a good name for the party be? Anyone up for creating it? For names, how about "Be Better" or "The Better Party" or "Harvest America" (after Greg Laurie's Ministry). Take it easy.

I'm really discouraged with pretty much all of them. They are all a bunch of "panderers and flatterers" (what Ralph Nader said about Hillary Clinton). I think that there would be positive and negative aspects to all the candidates if they were elected. SOoooo....i don't really care since they're cookie cutter candidates.

If you were Christian you would not want to be apart of this World as Jesus was not apart of this World.

John 15:19 - If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

Christians should have nothing to do with the kingdoms of this world as they are in control by Satan.

Luk 4:5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

As Christians we look forward to God's Goverment.

Mat 19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Well, hopefully mine will be Fred Thompson if and when he gets in the race. But for now, although, not my personal favorites, I would go with McCain or Brownback.

Rudy just shot himself in the foot, AFAIC, with his pro-choice attutide about abortion.
That leaves Brownback and Gingrich. Still too early to really decide but the rhetoric should be interesting over the next year.

I am a Christian and I am not interested in a president that represents my religious beliefs. I want an intelligent, compassionate, strong, leader as president and I could care less if he/she is Christian, Jewish, Muslim, or a Druid for that matter.
