Wow. Heaven sure sounds like a welcoming, friendly place (NOT), what with alienating statements from believers, including leaders such as Rev. Pat Robertson and Rev. Jerry Falwell:
"Many of those people involved with Adolph Hitler were Satanists, many of them were homosexuals--the two things seem to go together."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 1/21/93
"[homosexuals are] brute beasts...part of a vile and satanic system [that] will be utterly annihilated, and there will be a celebration in heaven." Jerry Falwell: Quoted in Jim Hill and Rand Cheadle, "The Bible Tells Me So", Anchor Books (1996), Pages 69-70
There's really nothing more inspiring than seeing the true face of Godly love and effective witnessing, is there?

Okay, God doesn't create people 'gay' (he still loves gay people though). Its like telling a kid alcohol is bad and then handing them the bottle of whiskey. It doesn't make sense. If you really believe the Bible is God's word, then you would also believe that homosexuality is wrong. As to why people are gay, who knows. So far the best theory I've heard is this: Polar opposites attract (north attracts south, south attracts north), but when you drop a magnet really hard, the polarities switch (south attracts south, north attracts north), so, the hypothesis is, were gay people just dropped on their heads at a young age, or were they jarred in a car accident or something? It may not sound serious, but if you think about it, its the first one I've heard that makes sense. Anyway, back to God and homosexuality. There is no such thing as a gay christian. There could be a christian struggling with homosexual thoughts, but truly, as long as they know that they are sinning and their fighting it with all of their being, their a christian. Its just like any other problem, the porn is always on the computer, but you have a choice to look at it. The thought of hooking up with someone of your own gender is always there, but you have the choice to decide whether you want to or not. Sorry about this answer being so long, but I hope it helps.

this is pretty hypocrytic.
I am sorry to all of the christians AND non-christians that have to deal with hypocrytic and "holier than thou" christians.
don't get me wrong, I sin too, but If i were to say i didnt't sin I would be a hypocrite.
the point is, homosexuality is a sin like any other.
it is just like drinking, disobeying parents, adultry and the rest of the things that God says we shouldn't do.
God would not create someone gay.
that means he would be condemning them to Hell without giving them the chance to accept him.
the beauty of God is he gives us free will and choice to love him and sin. This means he gave us the choice to be gay as well.
It is true however that God loves them just the way they are.
I myself don't completely understand and probably never will understand homosexuality.
That does not mean i do not like or love homosexuals (i am not myself gay).
I just don't understand it.
ONe thing i do think though is that it's a choice and I do know God loves them anyways.

and to Smarterthanthou:
it's comments like these that make me mad.
what kind of an impact are you trying to make on people?
you are being the hypocrytic and "holier than thou" christian i was talking about.
guys, not all christians are like this. it drives me nuts to see such comments and i apologize on behalf of Smarterthanthou to everyone that was offended by this
and Smarterthanthou, i forgive you.

I completely agree with you that paying away homosexuality is not possible. But I disagree with your statements about it being so sinful according to many areas of the bible that are against it. First, you can find scriptures to prove or disprove any area of subject matter. It just depends on what you are looking for. Secondly, God created all people and he also loved all people and that includes those with same sex gender preference. After all, if he created a person then that person is worthy of his love and your acceptance.

Yes, God loved us so much he gave us His Son to die on the cross for our sins - everyone's sinsnot - just Christians! Christians are only those who have accepted Jesus the Son of God as their personal Savior--believing with their whole heart and soul that He died on the Cross of Calvary for our sins!----however, as to your question, God created us with free will - we can choose to do what we want to do - even if it is wrong - God has no double standard - God loves the person and not the sin - Read Romans chapter 1 verses 27 & 28 as to the homosexuality part you were asking about--When God says He turns a reprobate mind to them He means he has given them all of the grace and mercy He can --- of course after much longsuffering! As far as the part of God loving us: read: John Chapter 3 Verse 16 Romans Chapter 5 Verse 8
These are Just a few
Hope this helps

Consider the way the bible says that women should be treated. You are merely property for men. You either belong to your father or your husband. Your husband is allowed to have sex with other women (with a few simple restrictions) but if you have sex with another man you can easily be stoned to death.
So - do you agree with everything your bible says? Is it vaguely possible that it is wrong in one or two places? Condemn homosexuality if you want but then make sure you are nothing but a second class citizen to your owner.

God is the only one who can judge. Those same people who go around telling everyone they are going to hell are the ones who will be damned. God judges us by the good in our hearts. I think God looks at whether or not we have love in our hearts not who we love. And furthermore, people like that are the ones who give Christianity a bad name and make people scared to love God. God is love.

Please find another way to waste your time.
Especially one that doesn't fuel a movement to stick religious legislation into secular government, to avoids giving gays respectable treatment under the law.
There are more important issues, wouldn't you agree?
Especially when gays are a minority, 85%+ of Christians have sex before marriage, and your divorce rate percentage is higher than atheists.
I repeat: Get a life.

The blame should be thrown to the whole Christian people if you have widen your knowledge because that is an individual answer by the very person the question.
Do you mean to say that the fault of your sister is your fault and the fault of your family. Very wrong reasoning.

Its an attempt to justify the Christians own bigotry. Remember, the bible also says "judge not lest ye be judged". Pity they don't even listen to their own bible.
