I would say Jainism.

They do not believe in harming anything and go to great lengths to ensure that no living creature is harmed. Jains are vegetarians, and many sweep the floor as they walk to ensure that they do not accidentley stamd on anything and harm it. Harming humans would be even worse and no Jain would consider this.

The question might also be. . . What is the worlds most peaceful culture, race of people or most peaceful religion as you asked here.

First of all...you are speaking of " religion " . . . how can a fair answer be expressed of that. There is something in all " religions " and all curltures, races, countries etc. that would be found to be favorable or unfavorable...peaceful or non-peaceful...startling and shocking or soothing and assuring.

Any replies that might come in here that states which one might be the most " peaceful " religion. . .I'd question the source.

To ' Simply Be ' would be my reply.

Jainism...its kinda like Buddhism in a way...but Buddhists actually eat meat, where Jains r so peaceful they dont eat ANY meat. Orthodox Jains cover their face with a cloth to prevent killling even the small flies in the air, and they r very careful when walking the ground so they dont even kill a ant. i gotta couple Jain friends, and they try to seem tough, but they wont hurt nothin or nobody. Jains pray to Mahavir Swamiji, and its a religion that started in Gujrat, Indiia and is widely practiced n Raajsthan, IN...Jain tmples r so beautiful too! Jainism is one of the least practiced world religions, go figure! if christianity was least practiced and Jainism was mostly practiced, the world would b completey better place to be...but it aint happenin :-(

I've never felt so at peace since I discovered Satanism.

To be free to follow my heart without the mental terrorism of religion & it's threats.

I am the center of my universe & place no god above myself.

When ones needs & well being are the primary concern - this brings peace.

Cowaring before wrathful gods, superstitions & threats of suffering can only bring unrest.

This would be an opinion. There is no absolute. The Native American spirituality is very peaceful, as is Wicca, pagan, Druid, Hindu, Buddhist....there are many that ARE peaceful and most are supposed to be if they would only follow their own beliefs.

Potentially, I would say Christianity, because it is the only religion governed by grace. Practically, I would still say Christianity, because its core teaching is love. Its best practitioners live out love.

Religion in general tends toward legalistic practice of judging people according to their actions. The path to God or perfection is thought to be through the "narrow way" of self-discipline and conformity to "right" behavior.

The real "narrow way" is faith. Faith is not based on requirements; and still it is difficult for people to do it. Christianity is unique among "religions" because it is based on faith, not works or effort.

If I am working my way to heaven I become combative and manipulative. I am trying to bring about a result in the world and I may resort to militaristic means to get that done.

If I have faith I am at peace with God and my fellow man. The fate of men is not my problem: God is in control. I am even compelled, as Jesus said, to "love my enemies." That is a radical road to peace if I ever heard one.

That said, I think maybe Buddhism would come in second on the practical side because Buddhists are apparently not working on an agenda of proselytizing. They are about pursuing individual peace and not about judging people. Still, it is all about works, about perfecting the disciple. The peace that Buddhism creates is illusory.

Jesus made peace through the crucifixion: peace with God and humanity (he was one in substance with both). A dove, the symbol of peace, landed on him when he was baptized and the audible voice of God said, "This is my beloved son in whom I am well-pleased."

From the cross Jesus said, "Father, forgive them." You can't get any more peaceful than that.

Well, if you are going by the ratio of # of violent acts vs # of practitioners it might be christianity due to there being around 2.1 billion christians. Next largest is Islam with about 1.3 billion. Hard to beat the Buddhists, seeing that most Buddhist practitioners are mellow folks. But i don't think you can truly never know seeing as everyone can commit an act of violence. Me personally I try and stay out of it all. And by it I mean religion and violence.

I would have said the Quaker version of Christianity.

I'm not sure Buddhism is a religion - it is more a philosophy than an organized system of worship. Buddha is revered as a teacher, not as a deity

Important in some discussions to keep that distinction clear, between a religion and a philosophy

Judging by which religion refused to fight in any war, e.g., Hitler's Germany, Russia, Italy, Britain etc etc., I would have to say...Jehovah's witnesses. I had a friend back in the '50's who was a witness and went to prison for being a conscientious objector, and plenty went to concentration camps, Siberia, whatever because of refusal to fight on ANY side . They still do so refuse. I have been to an international convention of J.W's and seen for myself the peace and harmony among different races, andhow previous enemies Hutus and Tutsis, Palestinians and Jews, I.R.A members etc. became peaceful.

None !
There is NO such thing as a peaceful religion;
religion has killed more people than any other institution in the history of humanity;

Here's the Solution for religion and to bring You Peace in YourLife:

Create a private, personal, direct, divine Relationship with Our Creator and save your Soul from religion.

Love and Believe in Our Creator;
Love and Believe in Yourself.

Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!

Without God, there is No Love; Without religion, there are No Wars!

"religion is Spiritual fraud"; "religion is the Worse invention of humanity" - Jesus Christ, Buddha and any one else with Spiritual intelligence.

atheists = all the people in religion = all the ignorant fundamentalists = all the cults/superstitions
