Ok....onwards from a previous question.
God sent Jesus to Earth as a sacrifice, so he would experience the pain, humiliation, fear etc. associated with his death. God did this because it was to forgive our sins, to show that he was willing to sacrifice his son, and he KNEW that Jesus was going to murdered when God sent him to Earth. correct?
So does that make God a murderer? or at least an accessory to murder? Surely it doesn't matter how much benefit became of it, he sent his (completely innocent, I add) son to be tortured and murdered.
I could be wrong but I don't think the comandments say that murder is ok if you are doing it for other peoples benefit. So does this mean God has sinned? I think based on the facts I have mentioned, that it does make God a sinner. How does that fare with the basis of Christianity?
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone - looks like God himself cant throw one

Sparkles - you have just agreed with what I said...that God knew what was going to happen. I also said that murder isnt ok just because it is for a greater cause

Dewcoons - you are clearly mistaken. Apparently God is ALL-KNOWING....there was no CHANCE that Jesus would be murdered, God KNEW he would be murdered. If I said to someone 'hey go stand next to that gun there' but I knew a maniac was going to pull the trigger, I would be an accessory to murder no?

When it comes to free will, we are all given a choice. Jesus, too, had a choice. He could have called thousands of angels from Heaven to save Him from the cross. He could have called fire down from Heaven to burn up His enemies.
But Jesus chose to obey His Father. And the Father chose to love us.
The choice was always there.
God sent His Son off to die for us. It's much the same if a father today sent his son away to teach a murderous tribe in South America about the gospel. The son is obedient, and indeed, WANTS to go, even though he fears death. Both know that death is likely (or certain). But does that make the father a murder?
No, it doesn't - neither in our terms nor in God's.
Jesus' death was a murder by sinful people - not just the Romans or Jews, but by all of us. God gave Him up and we murdered Him.
But even through evil, God, who is sovereign, works. He used the worst moment in history to make the most glorious moment in history. Out of Jesus' death would come the lives of many.
Its like when a man in combat gives his life to save his comrades. Jesus gave it all so that we can live. Is that murder?
No, its a horrible, wonderful, beautiful thing.
God bless!

By your logics, that would make every police cheif an accessory to murder because everytime they send a police officer on a call, they run the risk that the office will be killed.
By the same logics, every parent who allowed their child to enter the military would be quilty of murder if that child were to be killed in combat.
The death of Jesus was a free sacrifice. It is like the solider who jumps on a grenade to safe the lives of a dozen others around him. Or the Jewish professor at Virginia Tech who blocked the door of his classroom with his own body, taking multiple bullets, so that his students could escape out the window.
God knew in advance that Jesus would die. But it was Jesus' choice to do it, and it was done to save the lives of multitudes. That is no a crime, but an act of heroism.

First of all God does not sin, but you ask a good question. When God sent His son yes He knew He would die and He would die for sin. If you take time to read the last few chapters of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, you will see a trial took place. He was accused of many things, one being claiming to be God. In Jewish tradition this was a sin. What makes matters worse is Christ did not respond. The crucified Christ instead of a man deserving it. In a since the world blamed God for being God and desired nothing to do with him. You know what that still goes on today. People blaming God for being God. Because of His perfection. Only God can take away sin and so He did by allowing His accusers to put Him to death. He died even for their sin, just like He died for yours and my sin. We had already killed God in a since when we deny Him, but it does not make him less real.

Adam and Eve sinned against God in the Garden of Eden. The punishment for that sinned is death but God did not kill both of them but banished them from heaven(paradise). Since than man cannot enter heaven until Easter day! The only way for us man to enter the glory heaven was a sacrifice that can atone for the sins of the world since Adam's time. This sacrifice can only be taken by God(sinless). No sacrifice by prophets, angles or saints and atone it. Therefore God the father sends his only begotten son, Jesus. Only Jesus and Jesus alone can atone for our(world's) sins. It is a sacrifice and not murder that saves us and who are we to question God as to how his sacrifice(will) to be done.

Complex question -- I'm no theologian, but my undestanding is that Jesus was "fully human" and thus even though he did not sin, he was capable of sin. This means that he had free will, so had he chosen to avoid being crucified, he could have. As a person of free will, Jesus allowed himself to die. God the Father didn't kill/murder his own Son, but he also did not prevent it from happening.
But that is the nature of free will -- God could in fact choose to prevent any harm to any creature on earth. However, that is our choice -- yours and mine -- when a toddler starves in Africa, when a pregnant teenaged girl in South America makes her living by digging in garbage pits, when our forests are stripped bare and our air is foul and our citizens uninsured -- we carry the blame because we have the resources to fix these problems. God doesn't change things because it is humanitiy's responsibility to "love thy neighbor" and we're failing.
God does not choose for us -- God offers choice and we can choose well or poorly. Humans chose death for Jesus, and Jesus willingly submitted.

Okay you are going way off track here. First of all God knows everything, before it even happens. If your going to call God a murderer because Jesus was killed then why dont you call him a murderer for everyone else that has been killed in the world? If he knows all then why is he not stopping it? Why doesnt he stop the murder of anyone? Jesus was human like you or me. God did not tell Jesus he had to be tortured and killed. Jesus already knew this was going to happen obviously since he was a wanted man and was being hunted down to be arrested. Even though Jesus was the right hand of God, he was also human with natural feelings. He wasnt looking forward to it, that is why he got on his knees and asked God if it was possible to get out of this situation. But knowing very well in his heart it cannot be stopped he did pray for God to give him strength to get through it. Jesus could have easily ran away, changed his name and identify. Or he could have denied everything and maybe they would have let him go. But he was not about to do that, he believed in God and he was not going to deny him. God cannot control everyone like robots. God is able to see the bigger picture, something we cannot comprehend. Jesus was the only one who could comprehend it. That is why he was able to move mountains and walk on water, and heal the sick. God did not order the murder of Jesus. It is not Gods job to stop everything horrible that happens in our life. He is to worship, to thank for creating everything, he is there to appericate the life he has given to everyone. He is not to blame for everything that goes wrong in the world, its apart of life and it cannot be stopped. God means to know who he is and to love him dispite what happens to us in life.

Ridiculous premise. That's like saying that a parent must adhere to all the rules he/she gives to his/her child. (ie can't cross the street alone, must be in bed by 8 pm, etc). It's even more extreme of a difference when comparing God to mortals. To claim that He is bound by all the same rules and conditions that apply to us is just silly.
EDIT: Um, yes it is the same. Every life that ends on Earth does so because it's God's will. So is He guilty of murder everytime somebody reaches the end of their mortal journey? Of course not. You're thinking of God as a mortal man, hence your entire premise is ridiculous.

Poor logic; faulty premise "Jesus was murdered"
Jesus was not murdered, He was put to death under the law. His life, death and Resurrection defeated the law, Satan and death. That is the glory of the story. Amen.

God nsending jesus to earth to die does not make God a murder :) the reality of the story of jeus is it could have gone either way - humanity had the opportunity to have a different outcome - we could have accepted jesus for who he was and lived a life based on his teachings - but power, greed and humanity got in the way.
if one of your friends joins the army, and you know they may die - and they do - does that make you a murder?

Jesus is alive today. God is not the one who nailed him to the cross. It was the Divine plane and Jesus was "in on the plan". He knew what He had to do and He did it because of His love. He was the last blood sacrifice needed to redeem. His very words, "It is finished" while on the cross represents the fact that He did what He came to do on this earth.
