I have unique pain, it is very sharp and pretty high on my back (right under shoulder blades) - it goes all the way across my back. If I drink a ton of water, that helps some. I haven't injured it. Any ideas on how to make it better and stop if from happening in the future?

This could be an overused muscle. if you sit at a computer a long time this could be the cause of the pain. place a heating pad across the area for twenty minutes at a time. This would relax the muscle . Try using Advil three times daily.

I recommend you see either a qualified massage therapist or a chiropractor, to get relief and find out what is causing the problems. I've enclosed a web site where you can find a chiropractor in your area.

I get that pain! Under your shoulder blade? Not sure why drinking water helps. I get it from too much computer time or holding my babies too much. Yoga has been my answer - stretching and breathing. Go to a beginner yoga class and let the instructor know where the pain is. Stretch!

well ur pain's probably because u have handled something very heavy that was beyond ur capacity...or u lifted something veryy rapidly...some playing games after a long time can give u such pains...the best option would be to consult a doctor..
if u wanna try other options, apply an ointment and treat it with a hot water bag, sleep well on ur tummy

Well I would go to a docter, but I know my dad has back problems, when his back hurts he does this:
Go to a couch and lay on your back next to it, next put your lower leg (the shin) on the couch (the top of the couch where you sit). (This way you should be facing the ceiling.) That should help the back pain. Also there are many hot patches, Tylenol and stuff like that that should help you.
