is a result of increasing secularism?
Meaning non religious people have less children.
Or is it because now nearly 50% of the worlds population live in Citys?
Or is it because Humans are becoming less fertile?

Well, in the West I think it is the desire to have less children because of the two working parents. Which makes it difficult
to manage more then one or two children. And, of course, the cost of raising children is rising all the time.

But, you have hit on the number one problem as far as I am concerned. Everyone talks about all the problems facing humans like fossil fuels, etc. All those problems could be greatly diminished with a policy of population control. We can do it now, freely, or we can wait until we have no choice, either way population control is going to have to happen. That is just common sense and basic logic.

I think all of the reasons that you list are a factor plus the one I listed. The worlds population is way too high right now, in my view. And as I said all of the worlds problems would be greatly diminished if the world today had about half as many people. The cities are breeding grounds for crime, a simple fact. The more people that are crowded into ever smaller spaces, means more and more conflict.

A "one child" social movement now would help a great deal. But it is a problem because, as in the USA, most people think they are free, which is only partly true. Freedom in an ever larger and larger population, is not freedom at all. More and more laws, costs, taxes, controls, and bigger governments put demands on the population, in general.

I have heard that the worlds population is rolling off into a steady number, but I have yet to see those results.

If the population where to decline then we should all cheer with joy.....Cristian or not : ) The quality of living would greatly increase with less people taking up the space on this planet

The world population is growing at a rapid rate of 1 million a day and if you heard this from a friend they might not be that reliable. I dont think that it is going to decline but if it did it would be most likely due to less fertility. Many people have an std and hpv is causes cervical cancer causing girls to have a 5% chance of having a baby. ( very small)

UN reports indicate the following trend when the developing countries start getting richer (as now in China, for example): first a baby boom because of better health care; then a decline because of family planning.

Or, to say it more simply, when people get rich, they don't want to bother with children any more. They want to enjoy their money. Since the world is getting richer, your source could be right.

I haven't heard that but I hope it is true. Do you realize almost all the problems in the world today have a root in over-population? If it is declining I'd say that fertility is down due to pollution. Also RESPONSIBLE people are limiting their family size.

I hope our population declines. Mother nature in the past has had a good process of keeping our world population in check (think bubonic plague, tsunamis, epidemics). As bad as that may sound it is needed to allow the earth to replenish its resources for us to live on, but with developing medicines and procedures, and with more deadly emissions from nuclear reactors, cars, plants and whatnot we are quickly deminishing our resources and our daily habits are not helping either. As much as I hate to say this, I hope that we never reach 10 billion and I hope that something is done to keep our population at a constant, or reduce it.

I suggest you check your source. It is true that more educated people tend to have less children, but the vast majority will be born in third world nations.Any drop in total population is speculative at best, and usually involves some new disease or somesuch

There is genocide in Darfur.

There is AIDS in Africa and throughout the world.

The plagues are thinning the populations.

Education yields both secularism and lower birth rates.

could be a number of things...
what's more important is can we all be the same religion before the end comes?
Because there is one faith, one LORD, one baptism.
Will we all serve the One LORD, in the one faith and be baptized?
Jesus was sent here by our Father to give us that chance. God loves you. Do you love Him enough to worship Him whole-souled?
