Both religion and science requires a person to be very open minded and accepting of things that can't be seen with the eye.

It's true that many highly educated people also have strong religious faith. But I'm not so sure that this demonstrates the compatibility of science and religion. Maybe it only demonstrates the flexibility and compartmentability of the human mind.
And I'm almost certain that science cannot share reality with religion. You'd start by giving a little: "Okay, okay, if it'll make you happy, then Gawd did make the Grand Canyon." Then a little more: "Sigh. Fine. He made Yellowstone Park, too." And before you know it the gawdbots would be everywhere, the universities and research labs would be closed down and we'd be right back in the Dark Ages.

It is due to the bad example of false christianity. By bringing in so many pagan teachings and some "home grown" made up techings mixed in with the Bible, sensible people cannot be blamed for not trusting religion in the western world.
Science lends itself quite well to the truth of the Bible. Indeed science and the Bible have the same creator. While God did not go into fine detail as to how He did things, He explained in general terms. Thomas Edison is known as the father of electricity. If you went back in time, could you expect Edison to understand an LCD TV? What we know today is barely scratching the surface of the science that went into creation.
It is only when false teachings get in the way that there is a conflict between science and the Bible.

Science and Religion are completely compatable, all we need to do is make the people part of it work. Like, they could say something like "Well, God started evoloution, and here's how it went;".
So yeah, once everyone learns to set aside our differences, there will always be the arguement. I think the entire thing is pointless. Also, people need to be educated, in an unbaised manner, as to what each side is saying.

I think that science proves a lot, like evolution, but I also believe God created us in the first place and made it all possible. Many people do want to believe one or the other and I don't see why one must be mutually exclusive, I mean I do understand but I don't you know?

Its because we are conditioned to believe that if my belief is right (for me) and your belief opposes mine then your must be wrong (for everyone). I dont se where the logic in that is but as long as we continue to be as ignorant as we are then i dont see any changes. Its sad how people in the 17th and 18th century had a better understanding for toleration than what we do now, humanity is moving backwards

It's not science, it's not religion, it's how people try to use them to prove their own point.
