Who needs soap operas when Yahoo offers an interactive version?! I love this site.
Ahem...
So. *cough*
I see that teleconverter is still trying to destroy your life.
Let me think for a minute.
Apart from all the problems with light sensitivity interfering with the auto-focus, teleconverters can also have compatibility issues with some lenses because *insert jarring music* the rear element of a lens can CRASH into the front element of the teleconverter!
I guess we need more information. What lens are you trying to use it with?
No, wait... it doesn't matter. Read the booklet that came with your tc to see which lenses WILL work. If it's only L lenses, and if you don't want to buy an L lens...
I guess you have no other option but to return the teleconverter.
I've heard of Sigma lenses (for Canon) that also work with teleconverters, so I doubt the situation is quite so bleak...
... to be continued?

Canon tele-extenders are manufactured to fit specific lenses. Apparently, your lens isn't one of the lenses it fits.
