Well if you are reasonably healthy, Norton anti-virus will do you no harm, and your body will recover.
Norton anti-virus might actually be just as good, many doctors prescribe antibiotics which tackle bacteria for virus infections. The likely hood is the antibiotics will only be effective if your virus infection becomes a bacterial infection.

Antibiotics don't work on viruses so the Norton of course

To be honest, Norton would be just as good at getting rid of it as the antibiotics.

If your doctor prescribed antibiotics for a virus, he is incompetent. Antibiotics are for bacterial infections only.

It is mainly because of useless overprescribing of antibiotics that they are now becoming useless, as bacteria evolve resistance to them.

Your question doesn't make much sense to me. Yes by all means take the doctors advice and the recommended medication, but norton anti virus is actually a computer software to protect your computer for viruses so I think you have the 2 muddled up somehow.
