I can pray for a person's conversion, but i cannot pray anybody into heaven. The sinner must make a personal decision to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. I can pray that the Holy Spirit will open a sinners heart and allow the Spirit of God to lead that person to Christ, but i cannot save anybody. The sinner must be warned of the consequences of dying in their sins, that is to say of dying without Christ. That penalty is eternal death in hell. I did not make the rules----God did. I am just the messenger, not the judge. I do not pray that anybody goes to hell, but that all come to the glory of God through Jesus Christ. If a person fails to make it to heaven, then it is their own fault for not heeding the warnings that they were given in this life. the warnings are everywhere; therefore there are no excuses for not believing. This is biblical.

The bible tells us that if we truely believe in our hearts, with no doubts at all then our prayers will be answered as we so asked. In that you are right christians show contradiction, but peopl behave differently all the time, one person may have such love for their fellow man that there thoughts, & actions reflect this, whilst others feel that judging you is more the way to go (not realising that they are driving people away from God not to Him)

I tell more Christians I'll pray for them than I EVER do atheists. *LOL*
I've said it before elsewhere on here, but I'll say it again...it is not for ANYONE to say who shall go to "Heaven" or "Hell". That is up to God and God alone to decide. I never tell anyone I'll pray for them if they are believing something contrary to the Lord. I do tell them that I deliver them unto the Lord, meaning, that I know I am not strong enough to fight whatever is in them that keeps them from hearing His truth and that I leave it up to the Lord to bring about whatever He has to to give them the knowledge, wisdom and understanding to know Him, to follow Him (and not the teachings of some church) and accept Him as their savior. It's sort of like tagging out and letting God into the ring.
Long story short, if a Christian tells you you're going to "Hell", they are not of the Lord and not to be worried about, any way.

Well I'm Christian for one. I've never had that attitude towards Atheists. I know it's hard to believe in something you haven't seen, that's for sure. Christians that tell Atheists they're going to hell are ignorant to me. No respect of persons, and truly don't understand the nature of God. The God of my understanding is about love. He judges no man of the flesh. In-fact we are taught to judge not, less ye be judged with the same. Therefore, if someone judges someone for their unbelief, and states they are going to hell... they might want to reconsider that position, less they fall to that judgment. I can't deny my personal experience and truly believe in God. I believe He sent His Son here Jesus Christ. But why do some people take offense to this? That answer I'll never know, but I'm not offended by it. Ultimately, this life is about loving and caring for other people. It's not about us, it's about how we treat others, in my opinion.

well in my religion we don't believe that there is an actual place such as hell but you just say we just say that we want to help people so that they can be save so you pray for them so they can be. We don't go around saying that they're going to hell because that's not for us to judge or decide but only for God. Just go by the text below...
Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment that you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, "Let me take the speck out of your eye," when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

Catholics say you're going to hell. The rest of us Christians would never dream of putting ourselves in God's shoes and act as Judge. Furthermore, Hell is not a biblical teaching, it is Dante's LSD trip that was used as a political scare tactic.

I'm going to guess it doesn't matter how many people pray for you, they are praying you finally learn their point of view and change your life style so you won't go to hell.....
Course, I've never seen those two phrases in the same breath, but thats my oppinion.

prayer doesn't guarantee your salvation each person make a personal decision to believe or not our prayers might get to a place were they could make a decision but after that you answer for yourself we are given free will God did not make puppets our choices are what define us the only one responsible for us is us
