Well, take a breath and let's think about it for a sec. Has he cheated in the past? If he has, then it's a possibility that he might be hiding something. Have you cheated or been cheated on in the past? If so, then you very well might be paranoid. He may feel that you are accusing him of straying which would absolutely cause him to be defensive. How would you feel if he were to have just showed you every single thing on his phone and you found nothing? I bet you'd feel kind of bad. I'm not making a judgment on either side but I will say that there is an obvious lack of trust in your relationship, and that spells disaster for any couple. Fix the root cause of that and then go from there. And please don't listen to the girls on here who automatically assume, "Girl, he's cheating!" Work it out in your own way and draw your own conclusions. Good luck.

If some body...anybody was looking at who's on my cell phone I would consider it an invasion of my privacy. It doesn't necessarily mean I have anything to hide. I just don't like nosey people.

Sounds like a trust issue. Usually the one pointing the finger accusing someone has four fingers pointing back at themselves.

Are you feeling guilty about something you did...? and now it makes you want to check up on he/she or it?No you have to respect his/hers privacy. Its not easy when you think something is up...If something is up it will come out sooner or later. It always does.But.... trust your instincts.Especially if you are a woman because a woman's instincts are usually right on! Guys are usually paranoid!

Yup, if they have nothing to hide, they won't be upset. But then again its hard to avoid the opposite sex totally.... its jus not possible in my opinion.

not really, maybe they got upset because they feel you didnt respect their privacy, but yes there's also a possibility that their hiding something, i'd interpret that phrase either as a sarcastic way of saying " i need my space"

possibly they are but more importantly that action lets them know that you have no trust for them, and as for your second question -- sounds like a smart azz reaction to your action of
prying into their busines -- after all only bf/gf not married not even engaged no personal commitment.
