Dear Friend,
You are quite correct in saying that the trinity is not a biblical teaching
Christ was the son of the one true God. Many people will tell you that they exist as a trinity, but this is simply not true, consider the following scripture.
John 14:28"You heard me say, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
Also
Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they will die,
but the dead know nothing;
they have no further reward,
and even the memory of them is forgotten.
If the Trinity doctrine was true, then who resurrected Jesus when he was dead? and why did Jesus say the father is 'Greater that I'
And concerning the kingdom,
Matthew 24:36
[ The Day and Hour Unknown ] "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
If Jesus was God then why did he not know.
And again, in the book of Mark
The Greatest Commandment
Mark 12:28One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?"
29"The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.[e] 30Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'[f] 31The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[g]There is no commandment greater than these."
32"Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. 33To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."
34When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions.
The lord is ONE/ you are right in saying he is ONE.
1 Corinthians:15:25For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27For he "has put everything under his feet."[c] Now when it says that "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.
This ends the confusion, ' Now when it says that "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.'
If Jesus was God, how could he be made subject to himself?
I urge you to investigate these things for yourself, many Christians will tell you that it is a mystery that we are not meant to understand, Not so! God wants us to understand everything clearly so that we can come to him with accurate knowledge that breeds love.
The bible also says:
Ephesians 3:9and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. 10His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms
The mystery is why do Christians believe man made doctrine instead of Gods Truth.
God Bless

Catholics knew for years that purgatory didn't exist, but because of all the changes that have taken place over a vast period, they can really only do one thing at a time, and there are still the old school people who are stubborn in their beliefs, so these things take time. Eventually the Jesus was a sacrafice for our sins will disappear as it has only really been going for the past thousand years, the Trinity thing is hard to judge as all the offshoots of Catholicism have taken the Trinity on board, so to keep up with the other expanding Christian religions they might save that for the next thousand years. Remember that each generation becomes smarter than the last so we really don't need to carry on about how the Catholics taught something for years and years as it's quite clear that Catholics' do learn and evolve for example Vatican One to Vatican Two and then eventually sense prevails on some issues, such as the purgatory one, but it's not something that will happen in our lifetime, so the Trinity will be here for a while, it's not really something worth debating over compared to alot of other things

Never. The ideas of both Purgatory and Limbo came about through Tradition. The Trinity can be found in Scripture.

In the Bible..the teaching of the Godhead(which really is pretty much the same as the trinity) is there..the word Godhead is in there..and there is a text which says that Jesus is the fulness of the Godhead(something like that).
However, whether or not Christians accept the teaching..whatever the catholic church changes is of no consequence. They have changed the Ten Commandments even..and claimed to have the right...and in Revelation it tells us that the Beast is a man and the number of a man..who thinks to change times and laws...
I for one will not accept anything that church changes or doesn't change.

Sure, once a better explanation is known. The Trinity has been debated since it's conception. It's a poetic attempt to describe the nature of God. So it does fall short, but we have nothing better to use right now.
I imagine that we will be understanding it more once Jesus returns to Earth. Until then, we have the good old "Trinity" explanation.

Jews, Muslims and who? Why don't you just say Jehovah's Witnesses?
The doctrine of the Trinity is central in Christianity. If a so-called 'Christian' rejects the Trinity then they are not a Christian and should not have any confidence that they are going to heaven. They need to repent.
John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I AM, ye shall die in your sins. (cf. Exodus 3:14)
--------------------------
BTW Protesants have NEVER held to the doctine of Purgatory and have always held tight to the doctrine of the trinity, which is clearly taught in scripture.
1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

I think you are a little confused about the trinity, but I think the teaching needs to be scrapped since it is not truely supportable by the Bible.

You need to read news articles more carefully.
The doctrine of purgatory has not been scrapped. The Pope recently restated that the religious THEORY of LIMBO does not adequately explain what happens to the souls of unbaptized infants.

It is the logical conclusion. I've come to believe that the Catholic organization should scrap the Vatican as well. There should be a trial. Murder, torture, outright crimes against humanity have not been addressed either.
