I own a shop, and can tell you this; If you will go to a parts store and purchase a flush valve that you install in the heater hose, you can hook a garden hose to it, open the drain on the radiator, and turn on the hose full blast while it is running, and this should flush the whole system pretty good. They are pretty cheap, easy to install, and real easy to use. When you are done, you just turn off the valve and leave it installed in the hose for the next time you wish to flush the system. Cut the hose, install it with two clamps that are provided, and you are good to go.
Part 2:
I would think a master technician would know that bolts are not measured by what size wrench fits them. They are measured by the (outside diameter) OD of the bolt, and (inside diameter) ID of a nut. The other measurments are; length, threads per inch or (mm) millimeter, hardness, and type of head used on the bolt, as in Hex Head, Socket Head, or whatever it may be.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

Then the question arrises why would you need to flush the heater core? 12 year old cars might also need a new thermostat located at the passenger side lower radatior hose. T-Stat is held to the engine with 3, 10mm nuts & bolts. Low or no heat can be caused by several things. Also for this summer pull the radatior out and wash the debris out of the cooling fins and while there wash out the A/C condencer. Check the cooling fans too.
