Thats a very close-minded point of view. Why can't they just say "my path for me, and your path for you". They have to go around and preaching that everyone who doesn't think like they do is going to Hell. Isn't that a little arrogant?

I agree, and I'm an avid believer in the Lord. For one thing, the Christians (I do not refer to myself as "christian", but as a Child of God, just for clarification) forget one of the main tenets of the Lord...as a follower of God, you are forever in a state of learning. It isn't like school out in the world where you matriculate through grades and eventually graduate. You never graduate from learning about the Lord. Having said that, you never know from whom your learning will come, and you also never know whether you'll find out something you previously believed as true is wrong. Because of this, no one has the right to say who is condemned or not condemned. That is for the Lord and only the Lord to judge. So, to answer your question, not only is it arrogant for Christians to claim anyone is or isn't going to "Hell", but they are usurping a power limited to God Himself. There is only one path to righteousness, but it is only the business of the person and the Lord whether or not they're on the right path and if a person truly seeks the Lord, He will show them the path, period. I hope this helps give you a new perspective on those of us who follow God and that we're not all judgemental and condemning.

Christianity is founded on the belief that there is one truth in the world and that is God's truth. This goes against our current societal belief of post-modernism, which says "Truth is relative - I have my truth, you have yours." It's not a closed-minded point of view at all if it's true. It's like saying 2+2=4. The truth is that 2+2 *does* equal 4. I'm not being arrogant in saying that the answer is 4; I'm just saying what is true.

Similarly, this is what Christians are doing when they evangelize and preach the Gospel. It is perceived as arrogant because to the rest of the postmodern world, it is offensive to their own personal "truth."

For the people who don't believe in absolute truth... The mere fact that you say there is no absolute truth is a contradiction. Think about it. ;-)

No it's not a little arrogant. Christians doesn't insist that they're right and everyone is wrong. They're just preaching the people about God's Holy Word because God commanded it.

from arewethereyet - All Christians do no longer insist that everybody could desire to be Christian. We supply you the forged information, what you do with it somewhat is as much as you. regrettably that's no longer what happens. we get given the message by utilising christians - and then they POUND us (persist with up) daily annoying to comprehend if we've made that decison, while do we make that determination, and why havent we made that determination, and that we are going to bypass to hell if we dont make that determination. i might somewhat bypass to hell (if it somewhat does exist - you have no longer any data of that) for eternity than spend eternity in heaven (if that somewhat does exist - lower back you have no longer any data) with such impolite overbearing non secular people.

No man is perfect regardless of his faith system or the lack of one. The one word that transcends all of our different beliefs is the word: RESPECT. While we should agree to disagree, let us at least do it with respect. Each person can live according to their own philosophies and should do so without discrimination, judgment, or disrespect from any other person. At least then may be we'll all be able to get along with one another.

Maybe sometimes we ALL forget to use politically correct language when we ourselves are so sure we are each right and are so dismayed that so many cannot see the same way we do. Perhaps if we can all try to remember to watch how we say things, maybe it will catch on.

It's because of misunderstandings. When a preacher gets up and says "I believe" it's his opinion your listening to. In most cases, people forget he's teaching from his point of view.
Entire religions got started this way, and continue because people refuse to see it's wrong!

I cant understand why Christians exist but I must tell you that you are not the only one who has these true and in a right direction thoughts. YOU ARE RIGHT and dont let any religious nutcase tell you that you are worthless.

What? Do you want to go to hell for asking that question? If person X believes he is right, he beleives all other people are wrong.
