I have seen those things and I am not afraid of them. To me it is God at work. Stuff like that does not argue against creation, rather it would support it. I, myself, do not know much about those things but something like a star being born out of a cloud of dust and gas cannot "just happen." There had to be some divine thought associated with it. Although in reality our knowledge of the universe is very slim. We actually know very little about it. Peace be with you.

Perhaps it isn't a fear so much as trying to escape someone out to prove something. There isn't anything saying that the Christian god couldn't be creating these things. Man was, after all, made from dirt.
There is nothing more beautiful than a galaxy or more amazing than a new born star.

Without more details, I could make many guesses. The most general would be that you are trying to point out to them that they are wrong about their belief/s? Many people don't realize that...

I know. I am a christian and what you are saying doesn't make sense. What kind of galaxy are you showing them? My Grandfather was responsible for locating the main area for observatories in Hawaii. He was an astronomer.
So I have no clue. Perhaps it was somehting else that they are turning away from. Maybe your attitude? I really don't know.

I'm a Christian and I'm not afraid of science. I find it fascinating and am always willing to listen or learn more.
HOWEVER...I choose to believe what I choose to believe where God and creation are concerned.
I don't have to know how God did or does things to reconcile it to science...just as I don't feel the need to reconcile science to God.

I'm not a christian, but I understand the problem.
Narrow-mindedness.
The devout Christians have a very clear picture of their universe, where earth, with it's Chosen People are the center of creation. Anything that doesn't fit this picture, i.e. anything that shows that we are just a tiny speck in the cosmos, upsets their faith. They just don't have the religious ability to accept new ideas.

"you cannot give what you do not have" - perhaps they had nothing to begin with. A true christian would tend to see God's magnificence with those pictures ;)
