to be robots. It is the scam of a lifetime free will given by the"devil" but God wants us to be mindless automatons- constantly quoting an old book not advancing moving forward or getting better. So very sad Christians you are- not even close to what Christ Jesus wanted... Jesus would cry in most of your churches.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things that I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Treat others in the way that you would want to be treated. A man is only as good as his word. Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. -my stepdad Well behaved women rarely make history. -Marilyn Monroe. Sometimes change is painful, and sometimes it's beautiful...but most of the time, it's both. I'm so glam, I p*ss glitter. The best things in life are unseen...that is why we close our eyes when we kiss, cry, pray, and dream. Hearts change, I know they do...but mine will forever be in love with you. I love you is eight letters long...and so is bull ****. Whoever said anything was possible obviously never tried slamming a revolving door. A wise girl kisses but doesn't love, listens but doesn't believe, and leaves before she is left. -Marilyn Monroe A true man doesn't need to romance a different girl every night...a true man romances the same girl for the rest of his life. Life is all about the a**...everyone is either covering it, laughing it off, kissing it, trying to get a piece of it, or just plain being one. I'm so effin happy I could s*** rainbows. Don't make someone a priority when they make you an option. There comes a point in life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore, and who always will. So don't worry about the people from your past, there's a reason they didn't make it to your future. Nothing lasts forever, so live it up, drink it down, laugh it off, avoid the b/s, take chances and never have regrets, because at one point, everything you did was exactly what you wanted. Hope these are inspirational...it's what I live by.

Programmed is such a generic word. You actually believe you are an individual. You actually believe what you think is original. You actually believe that no one else has thought exactly what you are thinking right now.By spouting out against others beliefs you find some solace in thinking you have originality.Wow you truly stand out as one in a crowd now don't you.You are muttering the same crap hundreds of thousands of people have already laid claims to.Yet you are not programmed.Oh such is the fool. You do not believe you are a lowly follower.LMAO guess again Bullwinkle.I am not even a Christian yet I find it rather amusing you would make mention of another being programmed and can't even realize that you are programmed as well. You sound like the typical goth spouting off,of things which you never took the time to address nor even study and you are not programmed. At best you amuse me.Though mostly you are a fool.

If you knew God, you wouldn't say what you are saying. At least you wouldn't be saying it with any conviction. Quoting Bible verses is something that a Christian does because they use the Bible as a source book for life. And barring any answer given because of a lack of knowledge, the texts in the Bible define for us what we are. The Bible can state it plainly if the contexts are accurate to what it is that we are proposing as an answer.

I agree with you, God does not want is to be robots. But neither are we to ignore what the Bible says.

You use the words, 'constantly quoting an old book ', I take that to be derogatory, which is your perogative. But that 'old book' shows us the meaning of what we are.

So if you don't want any Bible verses at all in answer to the questions you ask, then please say so. But I wonder why you ask any questions at all about Christianity if you already know that it isn't something that is true.

You don't know what Jesus wanted, by the way. If you did know what Jesus wanted, you wouldn't be saying what you are saying.

'All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly [i.e. thoroughly] furnished unto all good works.' ~ II Tim. 3:16, 17.
'For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.' ~ Heb. 4:12.

With the above quotes in mind, and having been a witness of the way knowing the Bible changes people for the better, then I'll continue to quote the Bible when required.
As for 'not advancing... or getting better', I suggest you look at the comments of even atheist scientists who say that Christianity was the catalyst for scientific study.
Scientists began to study nature because the Bible stated it followed a pattern; it was designed and created, therefore had a discernible reason for the why and how of its existence.
Compare that to the Hindu and polytheist way of looking at things, with many gods quarrelling and falling out, and being responsible for things under their remit, therefore the dominant god in the region had to be placated, frequently (even today) by child sacrifice. Then you have the Buddhist claim that all is 'Maia' (Illusion; doesn't exist except in the mind), therefore should be ignored.
Compare also the modern Chaos Theory, which states that everything happens due to random events which cannot be accounted for, therefore we cannot know what will happen next. But if that were true we wouldn't ever build something as simple (relatively speaking) as a piledriver, never mind a satellite, spacecraft or interstellar probe, for they would be pointless, as we wouldn't know where they'd end up.
Chaos Theory should be called the Law of Equality, i.e. 'All things being equal [to the previous time], the result will be the same'. Therefore the results are able to be duplicated in experiments. This is what we observe in empirical science.
All this because people like Sir Isaac Newton, Lous Pasteur etc. were believers in the God of the Bible, and would quote it themselves, when necessary.
With such illustrious forerunners I shall continue to quote the Bible, especially when it points to the reason for WHY Jesus died: that all who believe in Him as God, Lord andSaviour will avoid hell and go to heaven.
May God bless you in your search for the truth.

Christians believe in the bible, they believe that by following it they will be saved. Why bother constructing your own arguments, when the bible does all the hard work for you? Given that Christians believe in it, these are their own arguments just worded through the mouths of others. I can't say I like it when they do it, but it does make some sense for them to do it.

And besides, I think God does to an extent want use to be robots. He gave us free will, but then went on to say that the only way we can be saved is by strictly adhering to his words. He's placed us all in a very difficult situation and I for one don't like him for doing that.

You say you are "Christian" yet you do not believe in the power of His word. The Bible is God's word and it is powerful. The Bible is where we get the gospel of Jesus Christ which is the power of God unto salvation. The Bible should be quoted because there is power in it. Hey, look, I didn't quote the Bible in my answer. God bless.

My personal relationship that I have with Jesus is a loving relationship and the Holy Spirit touches my heart to say certain things to certain people and to do certain things and when I do them they seem foolish but down the road it makes sense.Baby Christians quote scripture alot because that is their pacifier but when they mature God delivers the wisdom what to say from the treasures in their heart

I agree. Jesus would throw up after looking at the History of Christianity from the First Crusade to the Pedophile Priests.

I doubt that since He also relied on Scripture for His arguements. As the Scripture is the only known source of direct, divine revalation, and God the only true God, and He is eternal and all powerful, why WOULD I rely on anything else? Look, friend, let's say you get tomorrow's newspaper today. Do you really care what happened yesterday??
