This is just for fun. If Jesus was to be born, (yes people I know he already was) lets say in 1977...how would his life play out today. How would he dress...where would he preach....what would he feed the masses that followed him, how would he die, who would put him to death etc etc...10 points to the most original answer

First of all, he would have started his "public life" long before the age of 30. In biblical references "public life" started at 30, though I really don't know why. 2000 years ago, life expectancy was 45-50, which would make for a pretty short "public life."

However, having said that: I will offer you a scenario: Take your average American far-right-wing religious leader: Rich, dressed in a $1000 suit, driving a Mercedes, pastor of a multimillion dollar church with a congregation in the thousands and weekly collections in the tens of thousands, the owner of a 6000 square foot house, and a staunch Republican conservative. He is confronted by a young bearded man, dressed simply, who tells him he is a hypocrite, that he is not spreading the Word but only lining his pockets. The young man goes on to say the pastor should relinquish his wealth, and distribute it to the poor in his community, and that he should also build housing for the homeless, and help feed children and comfort old people. He further tells him God will turn him away from the gates of Heaven because of his wealth, if he doesn't use it to help those in need.
I guarantee you the pastor would be on his cell phone in a flash, calling the police, because he has just been confronted by "some sort of pinko-commie-tree hugging-hippie LIBERAL who wants to take his money."

To be honest, He'd probably be locked away. Of course, all of time would be different, so even 1977 would not be what it was in 1977 (nor any other year that preceeded it). The crusades would never have been fought, so the political environment would be significantly different. Indeed, the Roman Empire might never have fallen and we'd all be living in a hedonistic syplitic empire, and very likely 1977 would have come and gone with only the cockroaches left to know it. See, that's the thing about time: it has to happen both exactly when, and exactly how it does. It's not a river that just runs and runs and runs. We perceive it as such because we are on the inside looking out. But when you're outside and can see it all for what it truly is, you see that it's actually a really long ribbon with a definite start and a definite end, and everything in between must happen in an exact way.

Well, let's see. Jesus was born in the ugly end of the Roman Empire, in an area rife with religious and ethnic conflicts. So Modern Jesus would probably be from Detroit.

Now, no Detroiter would put up with his girlfriend getting pregnant by another man, so unlike Joseph, who stuck by his girlfriend and married her, Modern Jesus's father would have left him.

Jesus had disciples picked from unpopular men, a 'posse', if you will. He was an eloquent storyteller, poetic even, who could keep an audience enthralled. He had a social conscience, even if it didn't match up with the ethics of the time. He had a temper.

So, basically, Modern Jesus is Eminem.

He'd be born on the corner of Haight and Ashbury to hippie parents who would call Him Star-Child. He'd be 30 years old this year, the age Jesus was when he began to preach. So I suspect he'd have transformed Himself into a Televangelist doing REAL miracles, including raising people from the dead, right there on our HDTVs. This would immediately initiate a Federal plot to kill Him ASAP carried out by a joint team of sharpshooters from the CIA, FBI, and the NRA who will assassinate him from a grassy knoll as he stood on the balcony of his motel room.

He would live his life like a wandering bum, but since we changed the timeframe all he would have is a mound of change, so he would buy land and erect a church inside of which would be miracles like turning water into pure liquid gold and giving it away. Eventually all the change and liquid gold would become burden so jesus would buy stock in microsoft while it was still young, and he would introduce an anomaly into every pc from then on. every pc would randomly spout bible verses until you converted. but then one day while jesus is sitting in his mega-mansion just chillin preachin the word in his golden jacuzzi, the jewish mafia comes in and sprays the joint full of bullets. they take all the women and kill the men and children and crucify jesus on a cross made of broken pc's. they would crown him with fried computer cables and stab him in the tummy with a star of david. Thus is the story of 70's jesus.

Blessed Be

Strange...I have wondered that many times...Actually I think he'd pretty much the same. It's not very hard to 'see' him today, if you look carefully...Had very respected minister say one time that Jesus has already come back...as you, as me...Actually I have seen a few persons who remind me very much of a possible 'this age' Jesus...always very quiet, calls no attention to himself, but just goes about very quietly changing people's lives...changed lives even today is the real miracle...Blessings...Nala

He would have been the best rapper of all time. Then he'd get shot in a drive-by. Only then would we listen to his words.
