well i agree with you somehow, we should be healthy, we think of not being fat , not because how we look like , but to be healthy and fit,, By chance , the standards of being good looking , is to be healthy, (we do not know that , but beauty is a result of the good functions we can do)... when we describe a beautiful woman, we actually describe how this woman is healthy and fit to live , function, and can have babies (with healthy curve to carry a baby, healthy eyes healthy breast to feed the baby, healthy legs to walk ...etc) and with men it is the same ( strong to protect, healthy body to work, ...etc)

Of course eating is a pleasure, the old greek used to eat and when they were full, they used to vomit (on purpuse ) so they can eat more), the quality of food was different , and life itself was different ,, You see , in the past without all that artificial food,(concentrated fat and sugur which are not in nature by themselves) and with the activities human used to do (even walking to work, cleaning the house...etc ) before the technology which lead us to be lazy,, we were healthier and better looking (we were functioning better)....it is funny to eat , eat and eat (junk most of the time) ,spend money to eat, and then spend more money to get rid of the poison we had by our own hand ,by other poison (pills.....)
So, how to be healthy? lets do what nature designed us to do, eat naturally, and try to do the activities which we should do(like walking instead of driving all time, ) we will be healthy , and that mean we will be more to the perfect looking ,,, as mush as healthier we are , as much we will be more to perfect than ever
The aim is to be healthy , not skinny (in a way very skinny people are not healthy and they look ugly)

I think it's necessary to be a little obsessed to stay healthy. Depending on your body type, it's really easy to overeat or undereat, and not get the nutrition your body needs -- which makes you want to eat more/give up on the whole food thing.

It's like a balance -- a little bit of worry is a good thing. But if you totally obsess about every detail, that's not good. "Man does not live on bread alone." There should be laughter and books and dancing and friendship and other wonderful things in life -- along with a good brownie sundae every once in awhile.

The thing is that it's alright to want to look healthy but to obsess to the point of hoping to appear stick thin is not right. Obsession can lead to eating disorder and that can cause serious health issues.

I honestly don't know why myself. I just take it as part of who they are as a person, and I don't like it. I generally don't pay the person as much respect if they feel they have to dress for everybody else's pleasure.

because of social values. because it's ingrained in people's brain from a very early age that image is important. because of the media. because when we see celebrities whom have all the resources available to put themselves in the best physical shape possible, we resort to envying their bodies or their looks. so people resort to cosmetic surgery to feed their egos. it is the nature of the beast, unfortunately, this self-conscious world we live in.
