I am learning mandarin chinese on the internet, but that is made possible mainly due to only one website (chinesepod.com)

you may find something useful here:
http://www.fsi-language-courses.com/

You can also find many language courses and software available to download in bittorrent sites:
http://demonoid.com
http://isohunt.com
http://mininova.org
etc.
If you need a bittorrent client I recommend Azureus.

For german there is are some very good MP3 courses at Radio Deutche Welle's website.

There is also some good french learning material at http://rfi.fr (click on "langue française")

at these sites you can watch french and canadian tv, and much more:
http://wwitv.com/portal.htm
http://televysion.com

if you perchance may fancy learning chinese or japanese, I suggest you look at these websites that have many useful links:

http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/japanese.html
http://www.csulb.edu/~txie/online.htm

Yes, but it will be difficult. I suggest Googling Yahoo's online dictionaries, which are very helpful.
