PAD-D....Does it really matter where I'm from? Considering that US policy affects the entire world, isn't it acceptable that the world should be able to criticize what it sees as unacceptable US policy? As far as my other questions, watching the Republican debate made me angry and I needed to vent. They were not bashing americans, they were simply pointing out some pretty dominant characteristics of American society today. I would hope that in the future americans can rise above their own insecurities and accept criticism of how their country conducts itself within the international community.

You obviously don't see the big picture but that's no big thing really ,,,, Allot of people don't ,,,,

It's like in order to gain control of and extinguish a raging forest fire you have to strategically set smaller controlling fires to starve the major fire of fuel ,,,, These smaller fires are much easier to control and direct than it is to gain control of the major problem ,,,,

Some of the governments in Latin America and other places too aren't democracies at all ,,,, They are dictatorships ruled by a single tyrant that has no regard for the people he rules ,,,, In these countries poverty famine and disease usually runs rampant and the tyrant could care less and does nothing to combat these conditions ,,,,

He did not gain this position through free election ,,,, His rise to power was attained through military force and he uses that same force to maintain his position ,,,, Both he and his military forces live a life of luxury at the expense of the people ,,,, Saddam Hussein is a prime example of this ,,,,

To some extent Cuba is a good example of this too ,,,, If you don't think the Cubans have a problem with Castro then ask yourself why there are so many Cuban refugees trying to reach America all the time ,,,, Communism is a very hard form of government to live under ,,,,

Sometime some people and governments have to chose between the lessor of two evils ,,,, The new leaders that are placed in power after the tyrants are over thrown represent the controlling fires I mentioned earlier ,,,,

They are now in this position but it's refered to as only a provisional government until the new elected officials and leaders can organize and establish a democratic structure that includes free elections ,,,,

Some times the methods are a little hrash but you have to set fires so to speak where they are needed in order to attain the goal of the greater good for the greater number or the whole ,,,, The needs of the many far out weigh the needs of the few or the one ,,,,

The basic idea behind helping these subjugated and repressed people is to promote the spread of democracy globally so that eventually every one lives in a free society ,,,,

This is part two of my answer and rather sobering for me as an American ,,,, It won't take long at all ,,,, Allot of the unrest in our world today is due to the greed and lecherous activity of our corporate/political system running and ruling our country and for that matter the world really ,,,, It's not just our elected officials running our country today ,,,, It's a combination of the corporate and political sectors ,,,,

Almost all of our elected officials are on the take ,,,, They are bought by the corporate sectors and they have the politician right in their pocket where they want them ,,,, Today a politician will not make a decision until he figures out how lucrative it will be for him first ,,,, Don't be believe me then study the activities and decisions of any republican ,,,, That will speak for itself ,,,,

This situation opens up a whole new can of worms and comes under a different heading really but this topic is a major reason for the root seat and cause if the global unrest ,,,

Poopsie: You're throwing these questions out like a machine gun. Earlier you were trashing ALL Americans, then you toned it down a little to just the Yankee government. You even indicated that you might even be an American yourself. If you're an American its alright to disagree with the US govt., and only a few will call you unpatriotic. Its generally agreed that a good citizen should voice his/her opinion. Its really hard to tell where you're from, or where your head is, anyway.

It matters where you come from, that way we Americans can get a better perspective on how you think and where you are likely to get your information from. We realize that in some countries the news and information that their govts. will allow is very restricted and extremely biased. Some non-Americans come on here with such highly stereotyped opinions of Americans that the information they put out is almost useless. Irritating, obnoxious, angering but useless, because we know its all propaganda BS. You should understand that US citizens are quite divided over our present foreign policies, many, or most of us, are very unhappy with the situation we find ourselves in and we are hoping to see things get changed. And many of us really don't want to create any big influence over the rest of the world. It doesn't help when non-Americans snipe at us with insulting stereotypes and useless insults. So I will shut up ; my butt's geting sore, and the time where I'm at is 3:30 am.

You can trace this back to the arrogance of Theodore Roosevelt.

He was the president when the land where the Panama Canal stands now was seized from the locals. And he was really proud of that scam.

Republicans have been trying to top this grandstand play ever since.

America is the bastion of democracy but its role as a model is against its foreign policy of intervening and putting down governments with democratic systems.
