It all depends on what kind of fish you are after and the time of the year.

If you are going after the big game fish like sailfish or swordfish or anything like that, then I am afraid that I don't know if I can help you any.

Pan fish or small game fish is a different story. For those, the best time for fishing is usually in the early morning or early evening. The best weather is usually about 65-75 degrees and the best water temperature should be in the neighborhood of mid-70's.

Best thing for ya' to do is check with a local fishin' tackle shop. They'll be able ta' tell ya' what you'll need ta' know regardin' what species of fish you and the in-laws are searchin' for. Good luck, have fun annnnnnnd ENJOY ;)...

Right place, right time, right bait. For bait you could ask your nearby tackle shop. For place and time, good luck.

best advice is to pay attention to someone who knows what they're doing. most fishermen like passing along their knowledge, as long as you're not pissing them off.
