chewing would work
swallowing wouldn't because they won't break down. you will have a very small surface area to absorb caffeine from so you won't get much of an effect.

It is like eating a guava. the coffe beans (like the guava seeds) does not dissolved in the stomach so I think you may want to chew in as little as possible, but don't worry they would come out eventually. As an alternative to coffee beans for a quick caffeinne if you don't want to go into the hassle of making a hot coffee drink would be some coffee candies or chocolate. Get a jar, put some coffee or chocolate candies on it, then put it at your desk or drawer for easy access.

It is definitely alright to eat them...you should actually try to find unroasted beans which have more caffeine. The roasting process also burns off caffeine. Although the green beans are much harder, you could just suck on them.

Coffee was actually discovered centuries ago by a shepard in Ethiopia who saw his goats eating red berries (the cherry that surrounds the coffee seed or bean) and then getting frisky. He took the cherries to his elders and they started using them in all sorts of different ways, including eating them to get energy. When monks eventually came to the area they realized that if they drank brews made with these they could pray all night.

There is such a thing as Espresso Beans. You get them at Starbuck's. They're coffee beans coated in chocolate. Yummy! If those are edible, surely regular coffee beans are.

Nothing bad will happen. I do that all the time. You can even buy chocolate-covered coffee beans, which are very yummy and can give you quite a buzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Better chew them first for digestion purposes. There are coffee beans coated with chocolate and they are nice especially if you like coffee and chocolate. They are available with dark chocolate and white chocolate. Once you tried them, you may even be hooked on it...

You would absorb more caffeine if you chewed them first. If you just swallow them, you may have some uncommon experiences when you go to the ladies room.

taste is kinda strong, but it would get the job done. Don't know why you can't just drink a quick cup of coffee.
