Raw celery (it takes more calories to digest celery than it actually has in the veggie, so technically you're consuming negative amounts of calories) just drop the dressing though... Don't skip meals or anything, that sometimes makes you gain more weight cause your body goes on starvation mode and starts producing more fat. Just eat three good HEALTHY meals a day (limit the snacking unless its fruit or veggies) and exercise a lot. But really, you shouldnt be worrying about your weight too much, just maintain a healthy lifestyle and you'll eventually lose any extra weight

Good for you :)
Don't let your children make you go off the rails if they whine that they don't like what you are serving. They will eat salad and whatever healthy fresh food you put in front of them if you don't make any fuss and don't give them a choice. My little sister and I had no choice when our Mum started serving chickpea salads, vegetable casseroles, lentil soup and tofu stirfries - we ate it or we went hungry. I am so very grateful to my Mum for her stubborness because now, at 30, I've never lost these healthy eating habits and eating a great variety of fresh healthy food every day is just normal to me.

Whatever you make, just make it from scratch - in time you'll get more efficient and there's always the freezer for leftover soups, vege pies, pasta sauces and casseroles for those days you don't have time to cook
Good luck :)

Well it really depends on teh types of foods you like. Now that spring and summer is starting to roll around. You can start grilling you food, Chicken is perfect on the grill as well as shrimp and fish. I love to marinade my meats, you can always go to the supermarket and grab a few marinades and also some veggies, put them on skewers and spread a little marinade or just a little olive oil and place them on the grill. Fruits and veggies are perfect in the summer with the kids. I am quite sure your children love friut, so start picking up morw fruit for them. One good and eay recipie for the gril with boneless chicken breast is to just marinade the chicken with a little italian dressing for a half and hour, or for more robust flavor do it overnight. Fish is perfect on the grill as well, I try to use the garlic and herb marinades for my fish and shrimp and it comes out well, with corn on the cob. I am a veggie eater so i love all kinds of veggies and friuts. If you need any more advice or recipies, please feel free to email me at ni2ki@yahoo.com. Or a great website to go to if you are feeling up to it would just the foodnetwork website, they have all kinds of recipies to help you out and maybe some kid freindly ones as well

I think it's great that you like to cook! I suggest you go to a book store (there's always a couple of them in the mall) and buy a book on cooking healthy. It'll pay for itself 100 times over. Have fun, and good for you for bringing up your kids on healthy cooking! Way to go!
