what they do is in the middle of the actual ring, at the bottom not wear the jewels are, they cut a tiny bit out and rejoin it together by melting it and then making it all nice and smooth again, you wont even notice it! It won't devalue it either. And it will look exactly the same only a smaller size

The place that it was bought usually will resize it for free up or down 1 size i think it is.
But the resizing does not change the value at all of your ring. They will basically make the band smaller and not touch any part of it or the value.
It will look just as it does now jsut it will fit your finger. I had to have my engagement and wedding band sized They standardly usually come in a size 7 and i needed a 5.
But the ring looks just as pretty as when we picked it just now it can look that way on my hand and fits instead :-)

Resizing isnt a big deal unless there is some detail on the band my wedding ring has a desing on the top and bottom so unfortantly it cant be resized. But for most rings come with a free resize at where you bought it cause they know husbands/boyfriends try but never get the size right.

all the jeweler will do is take in the band part of it, nothing about the look will change, it's really common to have an engagement ring resized because guys pop the question with the ring but how will it be a surprise if he takes her to get sized...

You definitely need to be there to re-size it, they need to measure your finger to make sure they get the right size. It may take a week or so and obviously you don't have to wait at the shop all that time, they will call you to come collect it and make sure it fits you properly. If the band has a pattern on it, re-sizing can sometimes stretch or affect the pattern, so ask advice from the jeweller. There are also certain types of settings that can't be re-sized as it may affect the way the gems sit, but again a good jeweller will be able to advise you on that. If your ring is a more traditional style it should be really straight forward to size it.

Take it back to the jeweler it was purchased at. They will either size it for free or for a minimal charge. It won't change the way it looks or reduce the value.
And, it's much better than losing it because it was so loose it fell off. Don't wear it until it can be sized.

You can take it to any locate jewelry store or where he bought the ring. Tell them you need it sized. They will have try their sample rings to find out what size you need. It will only affect the band. No diamonds or anything. It will not change the appearance just the band will be smaller. But don't just take it anywhere . Take it to the store it was bought in or a big name local jewelry store. Hope this helps

I had the same problem with my ring. They just take out a chunk of the band, I think you can request to keep it if you don't want to lose that gold or platinum. It looks and is worth the same.
Sizing is difficult for guys!

Take it to the jewellers where it was purchased, and most times they will resize it free.

It will still have the same value and look the same. You can have it downsized for a few bucks. It is very cheap to downsize because they are taking gold away, not adding gold which is more expensive. Congrats on your engagement!!
