When a person has lived properly and acted generously, he grasps the way things are. He is not dependent on attachments; he is free from anger and aversions; what he does becomes perfect action.

The pureness of perfectly balanced action based on seeing the way things are--this is freedom and the ending of ignorance.

By being unattached to "self", by perceiving all experience as impermanent, by allowing wisdom and Mindfulness to develop, with practise it is inevitable you will be free because your ignorance will dissolve.

The homeless man on the street may be "free from attachments" but it doesn't seem to do much for his ultimate freedom nor for his ignorance. This is in response to the question part of your post.
I do agree with the rest of your statement however especially the reference to having the ability "to see things the way they are", a rare talent in today's world, but priceless.

Yes but what if someone cuts him/her off in traffic or he stands in a line up too long. Will he be terse with person serving him when he finally gets his turn after waiting an hour? Does it frustrate him to have the computer lock up? Is having no more toilet paper in a public washroom a dissappointment? I wonder.
(Just joking really) You make a good point.

That's up to you.....I don't know if you will become free "and" end your ignorance, and the very least you are always free "to" end your ignorance....The idea of "perfection" varies from person to person as to what that is, it may be in itself an attachment....

Not necessarily; the concepts are not related. You can live well with or without attachments -- or live poorly. The notion of "perfectly balanced action" is drivel.

if you are completely free of all attachments, you will cease to be in this world. our lives in themselves are attachments. attachments to this reality, we are the both the puppetmasters as well are we on strings ourselves. to be free of attachments is to be free of your personality, your talents, your interests, your loves, your challenges.

embrace your attachments and choose to what you attach with guidance from the heart alone.

and dear child:
seek not the purity of perfection
campaign for perfection of purity.

nobutreally:
there is no such thing as perfect,
only all
and all is purely and perfectly divine.

certainly does help to release attachments.

It is a process - often a life long one.

Having to be right or know something is also an attachment.

But all of that is vanity.

Nothing and no one is perfect, that is deluding your self.
You may feel free but that will not change ignorance.

I don't agree that it will free you from ignorance, but it will certainly help!
