As a Christian, I want to say there is no conflict between religion and science. All the great scientific discoveries in medicine, electronics, space travel. physics, astronomy, and other fields have no conflict with Bible teachings, and in fact many of our greatest scientists were Christians.

But when it comes to the fields of cosmic and biological evolution, the scientist have crossed the line from science to philosophy. A deffinition of science is knoledge, specifically knowledge obtained by observation and experimentation. Since no one has ever observed cosmic or biological evolution, or can perform experiments in the labatory in these fields, they are by deffinition outside the fields of science, and be considered unprovable theories, fit only for the philosophy class.

Does anyone here agree with me that evolution is not a science, and that we should rely on the Bible to direct us into all truths?

Dear theo48,

i think your point is very well stated and made.

One point i would like to add is that people often think that the Bible and science are at odds. They are not. The Bible never claims to be a science book, but the science that the Bible teaches has been found to be true. For example the Bible describes the stars as innumerable and there was a period of time when scientists thought you could actually number the stars but as technology and telescopes developed, they determined that the stars were indeed innumerable. All this to say is that the Bible does not claim to teach science- it's a book that God has given to instruct us on how to have a relationship with His Son Jesus- and how to please and serve Him. But Nevertheless the Bible has been found to be accurate scientifically, archaeologically as well as prophetically.

Very well stated argument.

Kindly,

Nickster

You hit the nail right on the head, and are 100% accurate. Not only cosmic and biological evolution, we have to add chemical evolution to that list. The Big Bang would have produced hydrogen, but scientist have no idea how the higher elements would Have formed. In cosmic evolution, no one has ever seen a star form, and in biological evolution, no one can explain how life came from none organic elements. I know some here are going to say that ambiogenesis doesn't belong in the subject of evolution, but the schools combine them and teach them at the same time. And no one has ever seen macro-evolution, one kind of animal changing into another.

The Bible says that each kind of animal produces it's own kind, and science can't disprove that.

Master...............If you think Theo48 is so funny, maybe you can educate us and tell us where the Bible is inacurate scientifically, unless you're afraid your 2nd posting will show you're more stupid than your first posting did.

The scientific method itself is neutral. It's the conclusions drawn from the scientific method that bothers me. Scientists say that all creatures evolved from one creature or another, yet the only clues they have are creatures with similar aspects of anatomy. Another scientist would look at the sheer variety and say that God made a lot of different species. Same evidence -- two different perspectives.

There is not enough evidence to show that one creature evolved into another unless you already believe the process was true. Both sides see the same facts and both sides see support for their own beliefs. I believe God created all things. I have read plenty of evidence to show this. It is a settled affair with me. Yet I can see how the evolutionists can interpret the facts to support their theories too.

Evolution has become a religion. In fact I believe it takes more faith to believe we came from rocks than that God created us.

Actually there is much conflict- evolution for one. But sometimes science and discoveries will prove biblical teachings.

Truth is independent in the sphere in which God has placed it.
Truth is truth...whether it be found in Religion, Science or elsewhere. Truth is knowlede of things as they are and as they were, and as they are to come. Religion and Science do not clash.

Creationism and the theory of evolution are just that. Theories. Neither can be proven for sure.

We've been able to observe evolution on a small scale, but we just can't observe it long enough to see macro evolution.

But I'd say fossils, galapagos tortoises, finches, and pepper moths are all very real, very existent, and very observable.

I hope no one agrees with you, as what you are saying is total nonsense. Evolution is science. Evolution is fact. The bible is fiction.
