If so, why do 16, 000 children die each day from hunger-related causes? Or is this when God's answer is "no"?

The E - I give regularly to UNICEF and the the World Food Programme. It would be wonderful if the tithe that many Christians give to their churches was used to help solve the world hunger problems instead.

Bogs - if it's God's will, that means he's already decided, so why pray?

I have been praying for a double jointed nympho manic for 10 years now, so my answer would be no.

God is a kid with an ant farm, he doesn't meddle with the ants but he does occasionally shake the farm.

Bob is not only right but Bob's answer is fully consistent with the current thinking in quantum mechanics that the mere observation changes the outcome of certain experiments. One of the biggest problems with statistics is that the vast majority of people who use them don't have a clue about statistics. You say "we" have done statistical testing. If you were involved as your use of the term "we" suggests where are your results? Since you have not written your results in the way a statistician would I'm suggesting you are using the term "we" to mean members of the human race of which you are also a member, or perhaps you are using "we" to mean you are making a distinction between those who believe in a prayer answering God and those who don't and you're including yourself in the latter group. Either way, you are making mere assertions that are not supported by real statistics. Your so-called experiment is reminiscent of a documentary I once saw where various religious people were praying for certain terminally ill people. This was a TV stunt that had no scientific significance I'm afraid. For an experiment to be scientifically valid you have to be able to control all your variables and this was nothing like a controlled environment.

There are three answers that God gives to any prayer: yes, no and wait. He usually answers according to His will. That is why we cannot really understand why He gives such answers to prayers. I myself cannot understand why 16,000 kids die each day because of hunger, but i believe that God does. It is tragic, but to wait on God's answer whether it is yes, no or wait, is an act of faith that transcends our logic, sentiments, and biases.

Yeah, God does answer prayers. His time and His season for doing so isn't for us to understand. Why don't you look into more pertinent questions like
1] Are you praying for these poor kids? Should you be, I think so.
2] What exactly are YOU doing to stop this? Seriously, chances are you haven't given $1 towards the cause or even an hour of your time.

God has answered many prayers. I'm sure that the many Christian organizations sent to work among the poor were answers to prayer. God answers many of His prayers through His people. He is willing to answer many more, but His people are not willing to go. "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few" (Matt. 9:37).

I don't believe that God starved the children. Blame it on the corrupt governments that fleece them.

The children die daily, because it is a man-made disater. God watches men in America be gluttonous and eat what the children in Africa could be eating!

let me tell you something... I have been going through alot lately, and I had the weirdest thing happen to me today. About an hour ago I got a phone call from my cousin Raymond's wife. She said her friend had a dream about me and her friend has never met me in her life. She said that she knew it was me because I have a syst on my leg and she saw it in her dream. She said she knew that I was Raymond's cousin. I do believe that no person could ever desribe me that way, unless MY GOD put it into their head. God answers prayers!!!

Of course not. There is no god.

My favorite Christian answer, though, is "god answers all prayers, sometimes yes, sometimes no, sometimes maybe later". What??? That is the funniest answer ever!

well, the bible says all prayers are answered, so they obviously didn't pray hard enough or long enough (hard to do when you're dying).

Strangely, the christian god acts exactly like one which doesn't exist.
