The only way you could sue that organization, the Gideons, would be to ask to put your Holy books, you supply, into the rooms of at least one hotel and one Motel. If the Hotel and Motel won't, ask their corporate office, in writing, and certified. If they say no, you can sue them. If they say no, because they have a contract with the non-profit that places the Bibles in the rooms and part of the contract is that no other holy books may be placed int the rooms with the Bibles, then you can sue the Non-profit on several levels including unconstitutional actions in blocking religious freedom.

Hotels, at least in the United States, are privately owned and are free to discriminate against any or all religions or the lack thereof. It's called free speech.

Most of the bibles I've seen are given to the hotels free of charge by another organization. It wouldn't be discrimination unless they turned down another organization who wanted to give them free books promoting a different religion.

I don't understand why a book in a drawer of the hotel room is offensive, but if it bothers you that much you can certainly find hotels that don't allow them.

Last I checked, this is a free country, if a private business allows Bibles in every room, they have every right.

And I am a non-religious person. As long as the hotel room is clean, has a decent bed, toilet and a shower, I could care less if there is a Bible tucked away in a drawer. In America I have the freedom to leave it there.

I don't agree, why would it offend non religious people to see Bible sitting on a table? It will not be the first bible the have seen, nobody said you had to read it. What about religious people that want to read it? don' the have that right? How is that discriminating against other religions? they don't say you have to read it, because it is there. I say live and let live.

Absolutely not. The do an awesome work and I know many of them. They are real people who care about people. They can tell you of many people who have found hope and life in the pages of those Bibles. I'd rather support them. They aren't discriminating against other religions. If you're offended, don't open the drawer and take it out.

please join the group of people who are little morons for lack of a better word and sue the pants off people because they get offended. Cry me a river then build a freaking bridge and get over it, if you dont want to look at the bible dont open the freaking drawer PLUS its a privately owned business you dont like the bible there go to another hotel that doesnt have them there.

It's free speech. Just because the government can't favor one religion over another doesn't mean that a company (a hotel) or a group (Gideon's or whatever) can't.

What if a hotel put a white bar of soap in my room but I only use blue bars of soap? Should I sue the hotel because they only provided one color of soap? Or should I shut up and stop whining?

A closed mind will accept the answer that suits him, an open mind will accept the answer that benefits the most people.

Bibles are placed by the Gideons, If you want to go around putting the "atheists handbook to hating other people and creating illogical and improvable fallacies then go ahead."

You seem to ignore the fact the hotels that are not run by Christians do not have bibles, but other books so who is discriminating against whom?

How are you offended? Do they offend you if they put coffee in the room too? You may not drink caffeine and want to sue also, How about the type of tv that is there, maybe it's not a plasma, you should sue too ! Don't cram up the courts with stupid lawsuits please, it's already crammed up by people with nothing better to do with their lives....

You should start up a new hotel chain that bans everything...

Unless they've left a hand written note I don't believe you could make any thing stick as far as suing them goes. Many religions are based on the Bible. You'd have about as much chance as if suing the billboard advertisers for they're messages.
If you don't want to read it then ignore it!
