I did basically the same thing until I was 35, if he still loved me, then he still loves you. and he still loves me he makes my life worth living.
and he will do the same for you.

I personally dont believe in the existance of a God or higher spirit, but I am not one to mock someones beliefs either, thus my answer might not be what you were wanting/expecting.
To answer your question directly, if God exists, I see no reason why He wouldnt forgive you. However I cannot comment on him answering your prayers or not.
To further my answer, many people go through their lives attempting to fill up the spiritual holes in them selves with things like money, sex, alcohol, drugs etc...it is the corruption of a capitalist society against basic human need of stability and fufillment/achievement.
Also a general case of youth rebellion is throw into the mix. But by doing those things it doesnt always make a person feel whole -religious or not.
However, that doesnt mean its always a bad thing. For one I know that if I had lived my life any differently I would not hold the beliefs on life and fufillment I do today.
My point, not an attack on your beliefs nor any surguestion that you should go against them but simply a surguestion, is that God cannot always solve your problems. He might be there for you, he might forgive you and he might have a place for you when you die, but he cannot solve your LIFES problems. Thats some thing only you can do yourself and unless you take control of your own life and steer it in a direction that you want it to go in then you are just going to drift between the longing and the desire to fill that spiritual void.
According to what I know about the Bible we are here on Earth as a basis to judge, based on our actions here, what happens to us afterwards. That implies to me that God wont perform miracles or always talk back to us on our problems because they are ours to overcome. To me thats what life is, a challenge, and God is a supportive friend.
Perhaps instead of wanting to know if God will forgive you, you should ask if you forgive yourself first and what it is you CAN do without God's help to better your life. God will be there for you when you need him most, but God didnt give us 'free will' to make us dependant on him either.
Build your own path and your own answers -Im sure God will help you fill in the blanks till then.
Good luck,
-Jay

God is a forgiving God. You might have left Him in place of your carnal desires but one of the things I can assure you, your name is carved permanently in the palm of His hands. Why not make it a try and call on Him.
Whatever problems you have at the moment, you know that it is you who cause it to happen; so, it is also going to be you who will cause it to be changed to the way you want it. Admit you are sorry and try again to live in the right way. Ask for guidance and strength not to go back to the same direction where you failed. Do not ask Him to directly correct your miseries because it may not happen but seek His grace that may be able to correct it in your own way. His answers to your prayers will be the result of what you do to achieve what you want. Do not blame Him if you do not succeed, think that you may have just made a wrong judgement on the choice but always stand up and try again with lessons learned or make a detour to seek a new road to the path of life towards your destiny. Seek the things that you are happy to do and know how at the end of the road is the destiny you created for yourself.

I can tell you what I have learned from the scriptures. There were workers in the field and there weren't many. So the workers asked the owner to get more workers because the harvest was great. Lots of work to do. The owner did train more workers and he put them to work. When the harvest was done they all received the same wage. The ones that were there a long time protested. But he calmed them.
The moral of the story is....if you have been a Christian for a long time or a short time...you get the same thing everyone else does...The gift of everlasting life.
But I did mention being trained. You must be trained to know what your owner requires of you.

Absolutely. He will take you back if you are willing to return to Him. That's what His grace is all about. Take a look at the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32. This can be any of us. Don't get discouraged by what you've done in the past, because God is ready to wipe the slate clean if you're willing to ask Him. Take a look at my testimony at the first link below, and if I can answer any questions you may have, please feel free to e-mail me at chad@jesusfreak.com. I'll be praying for you.
Message to Ster H.: The saying that "God helps those who help themselves" is NOT Biblical--it's a saying from Ben Franklin's "Poor Richard's Almanac."

Start with repenting, asking for His forgiveness. God is a faithful God and a forgiving God. I hope these verses will help. Psalms 34:18 reads: The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. - Deuteronomy 4:31 reads: For the Lord your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your forefathers, which he confirmed to them by oath. - 2 Peter 3:9 reads: The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you , not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. - Psalm 9:10 reads: Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. - A favorite of mine is Isaiah 54:10: "Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the Lord, who has compassion on you. - When I feel down I like to read Isaiah. It always lifts my spirits.

Dear Karen K,
The good news about Jesus Christ is that none of us can ever be so good to deserve his grace. Or so bad that we can be excluded from his grace. Your story reminds me of the prodigal son who left his Father's house and had to come to his senses when he discovered the emptiness of the different things he had been pursuing.
Some verses that are encouraging are Jeremiah 31:3- God tells his people that He has loved them with an everlasting love (the people in Jeremiah had been disobedient and had to wander in the desert for years and were under captivity because of their disobedience). To this same group of people in Jeremiah 29:11 God says: I know the plans i have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.
John 3:16 tells us that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.
Karen God will always meet you where you are and help you believe. Feel free to email me if you need a friend to offer you spiritual advice and to pray for you.
Hope that helps.
Kindly,
Nickster

Karen,
God loves you far beyond your ability to comprehend. You are loved completely. Talk to Him about your emptiness. His arms are around you already. You just might not be aware of it. Practice love and forgiveness for people around you. Go out of your way to be kind. The only way to have love is to give it away. It always comes back to you, fills you and nourishes you. Love others and love yourself. When you do, you will begin to feel great satisfaction in your life. I wish you happiness.

God will always love you no matter what. His love is so great we cannot even come close to understandining it. A good vearse to remember is John 3:16 For God so love the world that he gave is one and only son so whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. God gave up his son for you thats how much he loves you. try and read the bible often so that you can grow closer to God, so that you can know him and have a relationship with him.HE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU!
