If you are REALLY sure he only took one tablet, he should be fine.

As long as he took only the one tablet, he should be just fine. For his age group, estimating he weighs about 20 kilos, he's had very nearly the correct dosage for the next 6-8 hours. Children's Ibuprofen, the same drug, is usually given in 50mg tablets, and he would take 4 of those. That's the equivalent of the one adult advil- so he's okay. Make sure he's got something in his stomach, though, to be sure he doesn't get nauseated from it.

An overdose of advil or asprin would have an immediate effect. The blood is thinner, but that should be back to normal tomorrow. Advil is an anti inflamitory drug. It doesn't mess with the nervous system like asprin.

If he only took 1, he should be fine. He might have a stomachache as it's harsh on the stomach, so make sure he eats something to coat his stomach.
