I'm seventeen & am 5'11 and want to work out my abs and muscles but I think I had read somewhere that working out too much can interrupt my growth process...Is that true?

no...there is absolutely zero medical evidence that supports statements that resistance training stunts the growth of the human skeletal system

LV is correct, lifting weights at any age will not stunt your growth. Not only is there no medical evidence to suggest it may be harmful to kids, there are studies that actually say that it is good for you, if it's done correctly. Sports like soccer and football have a much higher incidence of harm and injury.
