As far as the way I handle a gun? yes, I always handle them like they are loaded. If you adhere to that rule you will never get in trouble with a gun. I never hand a gun to anyone without opening the chamber for them, nor will I accept a gun from someone without opening the chamber. I do this to assure my self that it is empty. But I still would not point a gun at myself or anyone else. I always treat them like they are loaded. It's just a safe way to be. Trust me, if I point a gun at you I'm not playing around.

They should all be considered loaded, so do not point them at anything you don't want to shoot. Accidents can happen. My guns are always loaded, except when I fire all the cartridges in them or clean them. If I had children, I would tell them not to handle my guns.

That just depends on whether or not somebody loaded it with ammo. You should always treat a gun as though it is loaded though. Never assume it's empty, even though you know for a fact that it isn't.

Gun safety programs teach to treat a gun as loaded.

So in the case if you don't know assume it is for your safety.

If you are a child, tell an adult there is a gun. Don't touch it.

You should always treat a gun or fire arm as it is loaded and ready to fire.
ALways keep it pointed in a safe direction, normaly down, away from other people.
And if you are not sure about it just leave it alone.

Not always, but one of the 10 rules of gun safety is treat every gun as if it were loaded. This way if it is an accident doesn't occur

Only when you put shells in them, but you should always treat a gun like it's loaded. You never know when there could be a shell in the gun. My uncle blew a hole in my grandma's ceiling, this past winter, because he thought his gun was unloaded. You should never "think" that it's unloaded, so always treat it like it is.

No they are not loaded, but for safety, always assume they are even if you know they arent. I keep one loaded for protection and i dont put them in the chamber, just under the barrel.
