I think it's because the "vending machine people" have some kind of a contract with the hotels that say they can't so they can make some money. Half the hotels I've been in have coffee provided and not everybody drinks coffee. Toothpaste is a huge need, that's probably why.

Good question.....because most people are picky about their toothpaste but don't care about their shampoo?
It more likely is a result of the cost comparison. Shampoo, soap, and lotion are cheap compared to toothpaste most likely.

A lot of them actually provide other things such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors etc but you have to call the front desk and ask and at one hotel, I actually saw a small travel kit in a vending machine!

hotels have a tricky time turning earnings firstly. Toothpaste might want to be yet another one in each of those convienent "take it with you once you bypass" products. really stowed away with little attempt. for sure the same argument might want to be made with creams and q-information. Its merely yet otherwise to target to decrease prices as a lot as a probability. one element to point is that maximum hotels will provide you with complimentary toothpaste (in case you forgot yours) at the front table. also, i imagine many everyone is particular about what they put of their mouth. Toothpaste is considered through hotels as something that human beings immediately take with them even as they grab their toothbrush. Its like once you %. a pair of gown shoes, you regularly might want to immediately associate gown shoes with desiring a pair of gown socks - won't be able to fairly have one without the different. The hotels have set the expectancy for human beings to "convey their personal." and human beings do not seem to have a issue with it - probable for 2 causes a million) Its hygene appropriate and neccessary on an afternoon-to-day foundation. 2) Its not confusing to %./carry. So until eventually the day comes the position this adjustments, the hotels will proceed to provide toothpase on an "as mandatory" foundation only in order to reduce as a lot added prices as a probability.

If you ask the front desk then they will most likely give it to you. It is more expensive. The chain hotels will sell it to you but the little ones most likely will have them for free.

it depends where you go. lower priced hotels provide less because that's what you're paying for. higher priced hotels provide more because that's what you're paying for. that's pretty much all there is to it.
