Stearic acid and caprylic/capric triglyceride I believe are both products that can clog the pores or make the face more greasy. I read something about that in Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me by author Paula Begoun. The grapefruit peel oil may be an irritant but tocopherol I believe is supposed to be vitamin e. I would suggest taking a gander at her book as it's fun and chockful of helpful info :)

I read up on this type of stuff before. I read that you should stay away from Glyceryl Stearate, and other types of stearates because they clog up pores and cause even more breakouts. Also stay away from acne medications with fragrance.

Try using something with tazorac, which empties the pores, and clindamycin, a topical antibiotic, in it. I also recommend getting ProActiv (because it works miracles) and using a cream called Differin (ask your dermatoligist or doctor). Also, I use St. Ives Apricot Scrub, it works ok, but i occasionally get breakouts. But my skin is much better than it was before. I also heard that Oxyclean works good too, use the face wash, not the pads..or both, whatever.

The most important ingrediants to look for is salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide, which will get down to the pores. So from what you put such as Xanthan gum and and glyceryl stearate which are fats and sugars don't appear to be appropriate for the face. So I would say not to your "acne" medicine.

Botanical means plants. but some of the ingredients are for killing acne bacteria but things that have dyes and coloring like yellow 5 and blue 1 and fragrance, are not the best for skin. consult dermo

these are standard cosmetic ingredients: rather commonly used, especialy in cheaper brands. several are potential carcinogenic and iritant: parabens for example. use sparingly if at all
