Ok, I will shave my legs and then when the hair starts to grow back a day or two later, my legs end up itching like mad!!!! I keep itching them and the spots I itch get red, and if I itch them enough I sometimes end up with bruises. I put lotion on them, but that doesn't seem to help. How can I stop them from itching?

I use my body wash to shave my legs the majority of the time, or if I use shaving cream I use the Gillette Satin Care. They don't itch right after I shave them, it is usually 2 days later.

I am an esthetician and I do skin for a living. What you need to do is dry brush. It's a brush on a long handle that you use to exfoliate your skin with before you get your skin wet...like brush before you get in the shower. It's like this - http://www.amazon.com/Yerba-Prima-Tampico-Skin-Brush/dp/B000GDTSRW/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/104-7395107-4083145?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1178245627&sr=8-2 I got mine at Whole Foods. Usually the itching is caused by your hair growing back and breaking though the top layer of skin. You might try waxing or sugaring instead of shaving. It lasts longer.

I had the same problem before, I found out that it was my shave gel and razor that was doing it. I know you said that you normally use bady wash but that could be doing it too. It's the stuff the use to make it smell good, you know those fruity smells. I use Gillet Satin Care Sensitive skin. Dry skin works to but i prefer the sensitive skin kind. Also make sure you're not using a dull razor. The moisterizing strip on the razor bothered my skin too. I starting using Gillet razors, the kind i use are mens i think but they're great.

Try the Aveeno brand body lotions and body wash. Sounds like your skin is getting dried out or you are allergic to what you are using. Apply the lotion everyday, to keep your legs from drying out. Dry skin can cause itching. If it doesn't get any better after trying different things, then, maybe go to the doc and see what they suggest.

Same thing happens to me. What's worked best for me is to go get your legs waxed from time to time. It hurts a bit, but it's not TOO bad. It lasts about 4 weeks and the hair grows weaker everytime, and it doesn't itch when it's growing back.

Try lotioning them right after you're done shaving.. they sure won't be dry and make them really smooth. If that doesn't work.. try getting some kind of medicated/anti-itch lotion. Best of luck!

use Bikini Zone cream on your legs after you shave, but wait at least 30 minutes or you will get a rash.

Also, use fresh razors and use a good shaving lotion (I use Skinimate). That can stop red bumps.
